    We will work towards the making of a Music Video.

    The Outline of the Assessed Unit is:

    1. Storyboard an idea for a short section eg 20 seconds of a Music video.

    2. Film and edit the short section above.

    3. Prepare a pitch to the class for completing this video including:

    A Powerpoint which should explain the style of video, how it fits the song, whether or not it

    tells the story and why, what is the story of the track & how it sells the song

    A written proposal document in MS Word using the headings and format given in the next

    slides but also including legal considerations.

    A filmed live presentation by the group to explain the powerpoint and proposal.

    4. Develop the accepted proposal to include:

    Overall project schedule, Mood board, group roles and responsibilities, storyboard, script (asnecessary), location and shooting schedule, risk assessment (health and safety) for all

    shooting activities, target audience profile, proposed outlet eg MTV

    5. Film and edit the final video.

    Walnut View Police Recruiting Video Project ProposalSeptember 2006

    Objective:

    Develop and produce a Video program for use in attracting Police officers to the Walnut View Police Department.

    1- 7-12 minute police recruitment video

    Description:

    Using documentary film techniques, the recruitment video will show the real-life job of an officer in the WalnutView Police Department.

    We will profile rookies who have been in the department for under two years, seasoned officers with 7-10 yearson the force and special operations officers. The police chief will address the potential recruit, and the Mayorwill communicate his personal commitment to the police department. The film will also highlight the quality oflife in the city of Walnut View.

    Key messages for the police recruitment video will include:

    Video Development Process Overview

    Phase One: Planning

    Research real-life Patrolmen to feature in videoCoordinate and pre-produce locations and schedule shooting days/nights.

    Create rough outline

    Phase Two: Production

    Film all scenariosThis includes multiple "Ride-alongs" with officers selected to participate.We may film at least four officers, and select the best for use in the DVD.

    Phase Three: Post-Production

    Complete rough edits of DVD for Client review.Incorporate client feedback. Re-edit video, submit for client approval or changes, then finalre-edit and approval.The editing and filming is a collaborative team effort with filmmaker Aron Ranen and WalnutView Police Department.

    Phase Four: Mastering and Distribution

    20 DVDs are delivered for each version. Files are also delivered for use with CDs and WebDeployment.

    Video Development for a music video

    Phase One: Planning

    We will storyboard the complete video, research suitable locations for shooting the video and

    prepare a schedule for organising all elements of the production process. This will include

    alternative shooting dates to use the right weather conditions for particular shots.

    Phase Two: Production

    Film all scenes using

    mini DV cameras and tripods where appropriate.

    Phase Three: Post-Production

    Complete rough edits of music track using iMove software. Present to Client in QuickTime format

    for review.

    Incorporate client feedback. Re-edit video, submit for client approval or changes, then final re-

    edit and approval.

    Phase Four: Mastering and Distribution

    1 DVD copy delivered to the client for approval. The video is likely to be made into mulitple

    copies for sale and offered for sale as a download.
