Unit 1A - Football
IntroductionYou will learn and understand more about football. You will look at the technical and tactical parts of football.
The technical part includes:
⛣ Passing – Changing speed quickly when passing; controlling the ball in a game situation
⛣ Dribbling – Using both feet to control the ball with skill; changing speed and direction quickly
⛣ Shooting – Using power and accuracy to score goals in small-sided games
The tactical part includes:
⛣ Defending – Communicating with teammates to defend in an organised way
⛣ Tactics – Applying advanced defending and attacking tactics in game situations to increase your chances of winning
You will learn about the rules and regulations of the game. This means you will be able to officiate a football match successfully. You will also work with your teammates to find strengths and areas for improvement.

Performance criteriaPasses and receives a ball with both sides of the feet while moving at various speeds in small-sided gameplay (G9.1.8)
Dribbles using both feet with consistency and control in small-sided gameplay (G9.1.9)
Strikes using a mature pattern with consistency and accuracy in conditioned gameplay (G9.1.10)
Executes at least three offensive tactics to create open space (e.g. creates width, moves into open space without the ball, uses a variety of passes, pivots and fakes, uses give and go) (G9.2.1)
Executes at least three defensive tactics to reduce open space (e.g. a high press, staying goal side of the offensive player and reducing the distance to him/her) (G9.2.2)
