When listening for dates, you need to pay attention to three pieces of information.
Skills building 1: recognizing dates and place names
When listening for dates, the ending of the number can help you. Most dates end with –th (e.g. 4th / fourth).
However, some have different endings.
* 1st / first 21st / twenty-first
* 2nd / second 22nd / twenty-second
* 3rd / third 23rd / twenty-third
For example:
