SEX CELLS

• MALE SEX CELLS– The male sex cells is sperm.

FECUNDATION

• If there is any ovum (egg cell) released, the egg cell and the sperm cells meet.

FECUNDATION

• Once a sperm fertilizes an OVUM, it becomes a zygote. The zygote then divides itself to form a very tiny ball called an embryo. The embryo continues downwards and finds itself a confortable place in the uterus.

FOETAL DEVELOPMENT• The embryo becomes a foetus (say fee-tus) eight weeks after

fecundation. The foetus depends upon its mother for protection, oxygen and nutrients as it develops. Inside the uterus, there is a bag called the. ‘Amnion’
