Observation1: Surfing on the web and the research of data can be:
By address: if you know the website URL
By search engine: if you don’t know where to find the information than youwould rather use a search engine to search for possible links which can lead youto the right webpage which contains the information you look for.
Observation2: We can collect information from:
-books, news papers, magazines;
-other people: teachers, elders, mentors, encyclopedic scientist…
-TV; Radio; etc.
Today, thanks to the technological development there’s another source of information
which is Internet by surfing the web.

In this unit, I learned...
A computer network allows users to multi-play games also to communicate, to exchangeinformation, to chat with each other and to share software and hardware resources.
The mother wants to have the control over her family and she wants to know what theyare doing with their computers.
More than that, she wants to be connected to her office so she could exchange documentswith her colleagues in order to correct the mistakes and to track changes.
Types of networks based on physical scope:Common types of computer networks may be identified by their scale. E.g.:
A wide area network (WAN) is acomputer network that covers a largegeographic area such as a city, country, orspans even intercontinental distances…A Metropolitan area network (MAN) is a large
computer network that usually spans a city or
a large campus.
A local area network (LAN) is a network that
connects computers and devices in a limited
geographical area such as home, school,
computer laboratory, office building, or
closely positioned group of buildings.
The computer network is two or more computers connected between them.
Internet called also, network of networks, is the all computer resources linkedin metropolitan geographic area (A worldwide network).
The web is one of Internet services. It’s constituted of web pages containingtext, images sound and video. These pages linked by hyperlinks.
Every web page is identified by web address. A web address ( or URLaddress) can have the following form:
http:/www.Computer_name/Folder/File_name.html
The surfing on the web and the research of data can be:
By address
By search engine
It’s possible to import texts and images from the web in order to use them offline.
