Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999)concerning Al-Qaida and the Taliban and associated individuals and entities
Briefing
The Chair of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267
(1999) concerning Al-Qaida and the Taliban and associated individuals and entities,
H.E. Mr. Peter Wittig (Germany), and the Coordinator of the Analytical Support and
Sanctions Monitoring Team, Mr. Richard Barrett, will hold an open briefing for
interested Member States, on Thursday, 23 June 2011, at 1.15 p.m. in Conference
Room 2 (NLB).
The briefing will provide an update on the work of the Committee, in particular on the
successor resolutions to Security Council resolution 1904 (2009) as well as on its
consideration of delisting requests from individuals subject to the Security Councils
relevant sanctions measures submitted through the Office of the Ombudsperson.
The Chair and the Monitoring Team look forward to this mutually beneficial dialogue
with Member States and will be pleased to answer any questions that representatives of
Member States may wish to raise at this briefing.

The second meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group of the Whole will be held at

The President, with the consent of the Council, invited the representative of Somalia,

accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter and rule 37 of the Councils

appointed the Secretary-General of the United Nations for a second term of office

The Chair drew attention to the report by the Secretary-General (A/66/63), information
submitted by the specialized agencies and other organizations of the United Nations on
their activities with regard to the implementation of the Declaration ( E/2011/73) and to
draft resolution A/AC.109/2011/L.10, submitted by the Chair.
The Special Committee adopted draft resolution A/AC.109/2011/L.10, without a vote.
The representative of the Russian Federation made a statement in explanation of its
position after the adoption of the draft resolution.
The Special Committee thus concluded its consideration of the item.
