Facility Updates All Installations U.S. Post Office Mailing Hours Change

Due to a reduction in the overall postal operations workforce U.S. Army Post Offices (APOs) will reduce hours to be open two days per week starting Feb. 5.

o Patch Barracks: Tues. and Thurs. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. o Kelley Barracks: Wed. and Fri. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. o Panzer Kaserne: Mon. and Wed. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. o Robinson Barracks: Tues. and Thurs. 1 – 3:30 p.m. o Community Mail Rooms (CMR) hours and service remains the same.

Official Mail courier service also ceases on Patch Barracks. Personnel must pick up Official Mail from the Stuttgart Army Air Field.

Tax Center Opening on Kelley Barracks – Volunteers Needed

Opening week of Feb. 5, New Location - Kelley Club in rooms 203, 204, and 205, on Kelley Barracks. The Stuttgart Law office is seeking volunteer tax preparers. Previous finance or tax preparation experience

is not required. Volunteers must be able to work a minimum of two days per week and are required to complete the Internal Revenue Service certification training upon volunteering. The minimum age to volunteer is 18.

Wi-Fi is now installed in the Patch and Kelley Barracks Fitness Center. To access the Kelley fitness center 24/7, stop by the fitness center to complete an access packet. Other locations to follow.

On Patch, the side of the building which houses the spin room and the upstairs aerobics room will require a separate router that will be installed at a later date.

Panzer Fitness Center begins install in February. Completion date to be determined. The Heat Is On in Housing & Facilities Contact the Service Order desk to report if on-post heat is not functioning at 0711-729-6200. Panzer Kaserne Panzer Kantine Closed Closed through Feb. 9.

Retiree Services Office Closed, Volunteers Needed

Building 2915, Rm. 122, Panzer Kaserne The office is temporarily closed until volunteer positions can be filled to run the retiree council. Retiree

actions will still be processed by the garrison Retirement Services program manager. If you’re a community member interested in volunteering to run the Retiree Services Office or to be on the council, or if you need assistance with a retiree action, call DSN 431-2010 or 07031-15-2130.

Panzer Back Gate Hours The back gate is open with the school schedule:

o Inbound Mon-Fri 6:30-9:30 a.m. o Outbound Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri: 2:30-3 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m., Thurs: 1:30 – 2 p.m. & 4:30- 6 p.m.

Panzer Housing Heating Line Project The Directorate of Public Works Engineering Division contractor has begun a multiple-phase project that

will ultimately connect Panzer Housing to the district heat lines from the City of Böblingen. Plans will be communicated to any residents impacted 2 weeks out. Projected through 2018.

Parking Spaces are gradually being returned or re-designated in alternate areas while the project proceeds. Building 3100-3105: Excavation continues between 3102 and 3013 (crossing the road). Workers are filling

the excavated sites in front of 3100 and between 3100 and 3102. Pipe work is in progress at 3102-3104. Building 3106-3110: Removal of the old boiler system and electrical work in the basements of 3106 and

3107. Workers are filling the excavated areas from 3110-3100. Building 3111-3165: Removal of the old boiler system continues in 3113-3115 and 31118. The sidewalk

will be completed between 3112-3113.

Patch Barracks Stuttgart Health Clinic Hours

Self Help Relocates The Self Help has relocated from Bldg. 2342 to a new facility in Bldg. 2333. Security Badge Operations Office Relocates

Effective Feb. 5, the office will be permanently relocating to the CCMD Facility Access Control Center (FACC) Bldg. 2308, Rm 124. Hours of operation: Monday – Friday (excluding Federal Holidays) from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The FACC will be responsible for issuing community access badges and alarm pin numbers to all eligible EUCOM personnel and visitors who are properly vetted through the EUCOM J24, Security Support Division (SSO).

Thrift Shop Re-Opening

The Patch Thrift Shop closed due to building construction and is scheduled to re-open at Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. Open donation hours are being posted daily on the Thrift Shops Facebook page until they re-open, search:

SCSC Patch Thrift Shop. Patch Arts & Crafts Closed Feb. 27 & 28 Closed for inventory and will resume normal business hours on March 1.

Road Work Outside Patch Gate Through March, road work will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. impacting the visitor lane parking outside of the Patch Main Access Control Point. Patch Heating Project

Excavation work for Bldgs. 2300, 2347, 2339 and 2350 is scheduled to continue Feb. 19. Excavation work for Bldg. 2343 will follow in addition to boiler room work.

Construction on Illinois Straße has changed the drop off and pick up zones to Montana Straße. Parents will have to drop their Middle School-aged children off at other locations on Patch Barracks such as Washington Square, Bankers Row, the AAFES Food Court, the Commissary, the Community Center or the Patch Gym. The students will then need to walk to school from there. The students will also need to be picked up at any of those locations after school.

Montana Straße and parts of New York Straße is closed to all traffic except school buses starting at 7:25 a.m. until all buses have left the area, and again in the afternoon starting at 2 p.m. On early release Thursdays, the afternoon closure will occur at 1 p.m.

Through Feb. 9 the Kelley Wash is closed. Detours and blocking signage will be marked as needed during the 3-year sewer project, through 2019.

Robinson Barracks RBZ Events Schedule – Activities, and events at the new RBZ community club. Support Service Updates Behavioral Health expands services to AD Family Members

The Stuttgart Army Health Clinic Behavioral Health department is now open to both active duty and active duty family members for all care (child, adult, therapy, medications).

A marriage and family therapist is now available for active duty and their families. A child therapist has been embedded in the high school. Parents/students call the Behavioral Health front

desk to schedule an appointment. The child therapist can see children of non-active duty parents as long as they are enrolled in DEERS. The clinic anticipates starting a provider in the middle school under the same program by early March.

Patch Library, Patch Barracks, 1-3 p.m. Enhance your portraits with the proper lighting. Focus on hard lighting – low-key lights with dynamic

shadows, and soft lighting – removing shadows and focusing on flattering the features. Participants will have a chance to try out the techniques they learn, and should plan to bring their own camera. We’ll be using constant lighting, so any camera with manual settings, including smartphones on advanced modes, should do the trick. This program is suitable for teens and adults, limited spaces available.
