A: Most of your neighborhood is already in the City. Unite by annexing your home into the City. This improves efficiency & safety.Q: Who is eligible to join the City?A: Any property that is contiguous or “touching” a city limit within West Ashley is eligible. Q: Does it cost anything to join?A: No. The application is free. You can save money by joining. Q: Will my zoning stay the same? A: We will match your zoning to a comparable City zoning, unless a different zoning is discussed.
Most of West Ashley became a part of the City in 1960s leaving several “donut holes” of unincorporated homes. Since 2007, 100s of properties & over 1,600 acres have annexed. “Donut hole” property owners apply to incorporate into the city limits to receive financial benefits & superb municipal services.
