The Auditorium was well filled last Sunday evening and many loving and grateful hearts silently echoed the sentiments expressed by the speakers in their words of blessing and God-speed for Mrs. Van Marter. The meeting was very informal and the presence of the spirit of love and good fellowship was vibrant in the air. The following speakers made short pithy talks: Carl Gleeser, W. G. Haseltine, Mrs. Croft, Mrs. Drake, Prof. Moore, Charles Fillmore and Mrs. Van Marter. Mrs. Haseltine sang “ Just One Power” accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Eaton. The Choir also rendered a number. The plates were liberally filled with love-offerings. The sense of the meeting was, that inasmuch as Mrs. Van Marter had proved herself capable of doing excellent work in teaching and healing at the Unity Center, that all the members of Unity would sustain her in thought and help her realize that she should have absolute confidence

in her ability to teach the Truth wherever she might go. Mrs. Van Marter will be with us some days yet before taking her departure for the West.

Royal Fillmore is returning from Columbia where he has been at school. 190 pounds of him came Wednesday evening. We bade adieu to 250 pounds last fall. We are expecting another shipment soon. He will remain in the city during his summer vacation.

The last issue of the W e e k l y U n i t y contained a short mention ot the large amount of free literature sent out from this Center, upon reading which one of our good friends contributed two dollars and fifty cents to the fund. Now, some more hungry souls will be fed with the words of Truth. May other hearts be moved to help on this good work.

A good many men come to church. It is a wonder they do. They cannot see the minister—one lady’s hat ca* shut off the view from ten men. Some churches ask the women to remove their hats. This would be cruel; what are hats for? To be seen of course. The more they are excluded from other places the more these privileges at church will be prized. If the nuisance keeps on after this year however, it may be necessary to have separate sessions for men and women, or better still, return to the old custom of seating men on one side of the church and women on the other. In this case they would punish each other and justice would then be done.— The Open Door.

We need in our Sunday School a class for boys from the ages of twelve to sixteen. Here is a chance for some one to do good service for the Unity cause and at the same time help the boys. Will somebody who is interested in boys please come to the front and offer his or her services as teacher?

The call made Jjy the Finance Committee for $200 to meet a note due the first of June has met with quite a liberal response. Up till Wednesday noon, May 26, a little over a hundred dollars had been received. The Committee feels confident that there are many other friends who have not yet made an offering who will make up the deficiency before the first of the month.

Those who graduate from the Unity Correspondence School will be fitted for teaching Truth. About two hundred members are already taking the lessons.

Does the congregation want the Sunday evening m eetings continued during the summer? P resent your views to the Program Committee.

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors will be held Monday evening, May 31st. All persons desiring to become members of the Unity Society of Practical Christianity are invited to do so. The Society has no creeds, nor does any person limit himself by becoming a member. The object in becoming a member is to unite in spirit with a band of workers who are using the teachings of Christ in their every day lives and affairs in a practical and helpful way. Application cards may be obtained from the Secretary in the business office on the first floor of Unity Building. Applications received before 8 o’clock Monday evening, May 31st, will be acted upon by the Board at that meeting. Those coming later will be left over until the next month’s meeting.

that they may dwell with me.He that walketh in a perfect way, he

shall minister unto me.He that worketh deceit shall not dwell

within my house.Give me an open countenance and a

clean heart, O my Lord.

Some doctors recently removed the appendix of a boy who had been sent to the hospital on account of enlarged tonsils. Of course they found his appendix badly diseased.

A state or city physician with authority to review what the doctors do seems to be called for. Most doctors are splendid fellows. To no profession does society owe more. But no profession is composed of men wise enough to have things entirely their own way.— The Open Door.
