GAYATRI MANTRA

Om Bhur Bhuva Svaha,

Tatsavitur Varenyam,

Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi,

Dhiyo yoh na prachodayat.

May the physical, mental and spiritual worlds bear witness to my prayer.

That adorable Light

On which the enlightened meditate,

May that illumine our intellect.

“As different streams having

different sources all mingle their

waters in the sea, so different

tendencies, various though they

appear, crooked or straight, all

lead to God.”

Swami Vivekananda in his 1893 Speech at The world parliament of religions, Chicago

“The idea that one man is born superior to another has no meaning

in Vedanta; that between two nations, one is superior and the other

inferior has no meaning whatsoever. Put them in the same

circumstances and see whether the same intelligence comes out or

not. Before that you have no right to say that one nation is superior

to another.”

"Who has given you the right to say

that truth exists nowhere else but

in the Vedas?"

“God is the thread that runs

through all these pearls, and each

pearl is a religion or even a sect

thereof.”

When I remember that All is the Self or Brahman, the

saint, the sinner, the lamb, the tiger, even the murderer,

as far as they have any reality, can be nothing else,

because there is nothing else

“A wise and learned man, a cow, an elephant, a dog

and a pariah – these are all the same to the one who

really knows.”

- Bhagvad Gita

To the masses: “Pray to your father in heaven”

To those who could grasp a higher idea: “I am the vine, ye are the branches”

To his Disciples: “I and my Father are one”

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see god.

The Kingdom of heaven is within you.”

“I would like to see more men like Gautama Buddha, who did not believe

in a personal God or a personal soul, never asked about them, but was a

perfect agnostic and yet was ready to lay down his life for anyone, and

worked hard for the good of all and thought only of the good of all”

“The high orders of Samadhi (or a state of self-awareness) that lend

gravity to his religion, are almost all there in the Vedas; what are absent in

the Vedas are Buddha’s intellect and heart, which have never since been

paralleled throughout the history of the world.”
