Grand Knight’s ReportWorthy Council Members and Families,“Participation” is the voluntary and generous engagement of a person in social interchange. It is necessary that all participate, each according to his position and role, in promoting the common good. This obligation is inherent in the dignity of the human person. (CCC 1913)

In reading the Catholic Catechism, this section stood out to me because that is how I see the Knights of Columbus. As a Knight, we have many opportunities to participate in social interchange to promote the common good.

In our council, we support our community and parish through• Support for religious vocations, seminarians and our priests• Support for our community through KC HELP, Parish

Pancake Breakfasts• Support for the disabled via our Tootsie Roll drive• Our faith through activities like Rosary Program and men’s

retreats• Life through our support of Pro-Life activities and

organizations like Hope Medical• And many others

And yet, there’s always more we can do. As we continue through this fraternal year, we’ll be reaching out to you to solicit input into what areas you’re interested in so we can tune our Council to better support our community.

And with that, as October arrives, we have plenty of opportunities for you to participate, some key items:

1) The weekend of Oct 11th and 13th, and the weekend of Oct 18th – 20th we will have our Tootsie Roll drive at Christ the King Church and at Albertson’s. Click on the event entry on our event calendar to sign-up to help. This makes a great event to get your family involved in.

2)3rd Sunday Pancake Breakfast is also a great time to come help and/or eat and socialize with the parish. That happens on Sunday Oct 20th

As always, stay up to date by visiting our website at:

and check the Events Calendar for the latest updates.

Thank you to all our members for everything you do.
