See It Right – by Rev. Dalia Adams

See It Right Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
― Confucius
The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me.
My eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.”
― Meister Eckhart
I had a teacher – a minister – who would say to me that before I try to set something right, I must see it right.
Those words “see it right” have been a powerful reminder many times when I have found myself in situations
that I felt needed “setting right.” My guess is that most people can relate to that strong gut feeling of wanting
to fix a situation or wanting to set something right. In fact, it happens quite often that we feel called to action
when circumstances unfold in ways that are not aligned with our values, intentions, plans or preferences. In
those circumstances, I would like to invite all of us to follow the guidance of my teacher to begin by seeing it
right.
We see differently. Even when a situation is quite simple, we see differently. An artist, a farmer, and a child
looking at an apple tree do not see the same thing. In addition, we tend to see only partial pictures. For exam-
ple, when a door closes in our lives, we often forget to see the many doors that are waiting to open for us.
When human values, needs, feelings, beliefs, and memories are introduced into any circumstance, seeing be-
comes very complicated. Seeing is so much more than the eyes registering light signals. The process of see-
ing also includes the many layers of meaning that we add to any situation. Our values, needs, feelings, be-
liefs, and memories become filters through which we see – and as a result, we rarely see the whole picture.
When we are operating in default mode – when we are not being mindful of the spin we are putting on what
we are seeing – we are not quite seeing completely right.
I would like to invite all of us who are on a spiritual path to see each situation that we encounter “through the
eyes of God.” This means making a commitment to release our personal filters – to release our preconceived
ideas, our limiting beliefs, our doubts, and our fears – and to look at each situation with fresh eyes. It means
making a commitment to see situations only through the filter of “Truth.” It means seeing situations through
the eyes of love, compassion, and possibility.
When there is an appearance of lack, I invite each of us to “see it right” by remembering that God is our
source and that there are infinite possibilities in any circumstance. When there is an appearance of conflict,
we can “see it right” be remembering that circumstances come and go, but that the infinite love that is God is
not dependent on circumstances. In any situation that seems to need “setting right” I invite each of us to first
ask ourselves: “How can I see this right?” Once we “see it right,” we can listen for our inner guidance to show
us what we need to do to “set it right.”
May we all see things through the lens of truth, love and infinite possibilities.
Blessings,
Rev. Dalia

this life force that is readily available from the sun, air and ground
to address physical and emotional imbalances.

Dear Community of Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center,
Unity, as an international spiritual movement, has adopted a new logo. I am including a
copy of the logo below.
Unity Worldwide Ministries (a.k.a. “The Association of Unity Churches”) is asking all
Unity churches to adopt this new logo in order to make Unity churches easily identifiable
as representative ministries of the Unity Movement.
Recently, the Board of Trustees has voted to adopt and display the new Unity logo on
Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center’s stationary and advertising. Our beloved Unity
Wings are not being replaced. The beautiful carved wings will remain at Unity of the Val-
ley Spiritual Center as a continuing celebration of our Unity history and heritage.
Please watch for our new logo. If you have any questions, feel free to talk with any mem-
ber of the Board of Trustees.
Blessings,
Kathryn Patterson,
President, Board of Trustees

UNITY PRINCIPLES God is good and everywhere present.
The spirit of God lives within each person, therefore, all people are inherently good.
We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.
There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God.
Knowing and understanding Unity principles is the foundation. Taking action based on the truth principles transforms our
lives and the world.
