“Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn (CAST, 2011).”

“UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials, and assessments that work for everyone--not a single, one-size-fits-all solution but rather flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs (CAST, 2011).”

Technology and UDLTechnology and UDL
Technology can be a very powerful tool to use to help with UDL.
Technology helps a teacher make adaptations to a lesson to meet the needs of all students.
Examples of helpful technology:- iPad/iPod - Speech Recognition- Touch Screen - Braille Readers- Text to Speech - And Many More…- Joysticks

Impact of UDL on Student Learning
Impact of UDL on Student Learning
Since UDL gets teachers thinking about students as individuals lessons will be made with the students strengths in mind.
Students’ learning style, disabilities, cultural differences, etc will be taken into consideration when planning therefore student’s will excel when material is presented to them and carried out in ways that make sense to them.
