1.2 Use as intended

The device is only intended for the extraction of cooking vapours in combination with a BORA cooktop extractor PKA or the BORA cooktop extractor system CKASE in private households. This appliance is not intended for:QQ Outdoor useQQ Installation in vehicles

1.3 Installation and disassembly safety warnings

The device must only be installed and disassembled by trained specialists who are familiar with and comply with the standard national regulations and supplementary regulations of the local utility companies.

XX Take note of all safety and warning information in these operating and installation instructions, as well as those for BORA cooktop extractor PKA and the BORA cooktop extractor system CKASE (see the Safety chapter).

3.1 Checking the scope of delivery

XX Check the scope of delivery for damage and make sure it is complete.XX If there are any missing or damaged parts, please notify BORA After Sales Service.XX Do not under any circumstances install parts which are damaged.XX Dispose of transport packaging in the proper manner (see the Decommissioning and Disposal chapter).

3.2 Installing the plinth fan

INFO The floor unit must not be supported on the plinth fan housing.

XX Prepare the fan by attaching the sealing tape depending on the installation situation (see Installation chapter, PKA/CKASE).

The plinth fan can be installed freestanding or suspended.

3.2.1 Freestanding installationXX Clean any major dirt from the supporting surface.XX Position the plinth fan in the intended installation position.XX Ensure that the plinth fan is securely positioned on all 4 feet. XX Make sure that the connection cables are accessible.

3.2.2 Removing the inlet nozzle for installation purposes

You can remove the plinth fan’s inlet nozzle from the fan housing for installation purposes.

XX Unlock the inlet nozzle by turning it to the left.XX Lift the inlet nozzle up off the fan housing.XX Position the plinth fan in the installation position.XX Place the inlet nozzle on the fan housing.XX Lock the inlet nozzle by turning it to the right.QQ The end positions when unlocking and locking the inlet nozzle are specified by an end stop.

3.2.3 Suspended installationQQ If the plinth fan is installed suspended, the fixing material must be made available at the installation site in accordance with the building material.QQ The maximum tightening torque of the fixing nut is 10 Nm.XX Hand-tighten the fixing nut and secure it against co-ming loose.XX Secure the plinth fan to the three mounting straps prepared on the housing.XX The connection cables must be secured with the cable routing clip provided.

3.3 Connecting the plinth fan to the universal control unit

XX Connect the fan’s control line [1] to the universal control unit [4].XX Connect the fan’s power supply cable [2] to the universal control unit [6].XX Check the plug connections to ensure that they are secure.XX Make sure that the cable is not damaged.XX Verify that the installation was done correctly.
