• The implementation of several projects in different areas of knowledge have promoted the growth of the university that became a regional and national reference in 2010, when commemorating its 50th anniversary.
• The advancements achieved recently are due largely to the
strengthening of relations between UFG and government (federal, state and municipal) and the members of Parliament from Goiás.

• Campus Samambaia, the largest campus of the university, is located in Goiânia (the capital of the State of Goiás).
• Goiânia has approximately 1,25 million inhabitants and has a
strategic location in Midwest region of Brazil, approximately 209 km from Brasília, Brazil’s capital, which makes it a reference point for industry and telecommunications.
• Originally driven by cattle-ranching and agriculture, the
municipality’s economy is now based mainly on commerce, services, and industrial production, particularly of food, clothing, furniture and health-related products.
