Mumbai and its nearby places. Journey of tour started on 10th September 2016 and ended on 15th
September 2016. Prof. S. K. Khode, Prof. M. R. Sayankar and Prof. A. D. Gotmare were faculty
coordinators. Near about 44 students were present in tour. Students enjoyed a lot and it became
the memorable journey for them.

Software in Electrical Engineering Application” The workshop was followed by inaugural
function in presence of Honorable Dr. M. A. Gaikwad, Principal of BDCE, sevagram, Dr. S. P.
Gawande Expert from Y.C.C.E, Nagpur. Prof. R. G. Shriwastava Head of Electrical Engineering
Department and Prof. A. V. Joshi, workshop coordinator along with the co-coordinators Prof. L.
L. Dhage & Prof A. U. Moon. Expert Dr. S. P. Gawande has covered MATLAB Programming,
Modeling and Simulink in Electrical Engineering application. He made participants aware about
the significance of MATLAB software as a most important tool in Electrical Engineering. He
also threw some light on the areas of research areas in which MATLAB software is currently
implemented and hoped that the participants will be highly benefited by the Workshop. The

SCADA” by PROLIFIC SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES PVT.LTD. NAGPUR from 10th -
15th September , 2016.The inaugural ceremony commenced with cutting the ribbon by our
Honorable Principal Dr. M. A. Gaikwad ,Prof. R. G. Shriwastava Head, Department of Electrical
Engineering ,Prof. S. N. Deshmukh Co-ordinator of Workshop along with co-coordinators ,Mr.

was followed by Saraswati-Vandana. Ms. Swati Ladake and Ms.Asmita Giri (Students of B.E
Third Year) formally welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and student participants. Prof. R.
G. Shriwastava gave the brief idea about the workshop and its importance. Dr. M. A. Gaikwad
explained the importance of the PLC & SCADA and its industrial applications and motivated the
students in his speech. He also threw some light on the areas of research in which various types

31st December 2016. The Program was followed by Saraswati-Vandana in presence of
Honorable Dr. M. D. Chaudhary coordinator of Engg. & Tech. RTMNU, Nagpur Prof. R. G.
Shriwastava Head of Electrical Engineering Department, Prof. D. K. Bhingare and all teaching

dignitaries on the dais. Today Mr. D. G. Thakare had been retired after continuous service of 32
years in Electrical department of BDCE Sevagram. Mr. D. G. Thakare had been inspiration &
role model to all the employees. He insisted that if all the employees should be hardworking and
focused then the world would be a better place. All the dignitaries of the dice gave the best
wishes to Mr. D. G. Thakare for his future. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by

Program detail:
Students Association of Electronics Engineering (SAEE) was organized the workshop on
“Arduino and Internet of Things” on 19th & 20th September 2016. The objective of this workshop
was to acquaint the students about ARDUINO. The workshop was inaugurated in presence of Dr.
V. R. Ingle (HOD, Electronics Engg.), Dr. N. N. Mahala, Prof. N. P. Bobade (Workshop Co-
ordinator), Prof. N. M. Chore (Program Co-coordinator) , Pankaj Dahilkar and members of L-
Tech Labs.
ARDUINO an open-source electronics prototyping platform applied using
microcontroller was introduced in the theory session. Interactive hands on training using
ARDUINO was conducted which includes Ready-to-use creative platform, designed to provide
the interface between LED, LCD, Switches, stepper motor, Smart phones, Personal computers
and sensors.
A live demonstration on Internet of Things was presented in the valedictory session
chaired by Dr. M. A. Gaikwad (Principal, BDCE). The session concluded with certificate
distribution. Thirty students were participated and completed the workshop successfully with the
positive feedback about the modules covered in the workshop.

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication was organized the Expert Lecture on
topic “Aptitude Enhancement Training Program for final year students under the student forum
of IETE on 5/8/2016. The guest of honor to deliver the Expert lecture was Mr. Rushi
Chourasiya, Director, Vikalp Foundation, Nagpur. In this lecture, Mr. Rushi Chourasiya had
introduced the concept of seed mathematics, personality development tricks, and opportunities in
career development. He also motivate to the students for time management and planning to
achieved the goal..
The program coordinator for this expert lecture was Prof. Ms. J. D. Dhande and the guest
of honor for this function, the head of department Prof. Mrs. M. N. Mandavgane and Dr. M. A.
Gaikwad principal, welcome the guest by offering the bouquet. All the faculty of EXTC
department was present on this expert lecture to make this event a grand success. Total 62
students from 7th semester was attended this lecture. This session is beneficial to all students for
getting the depth of time management for their personality development. On behalf of
department of EXTC a token of love was offered to the guest by the hand of Principal B.D.C.E,
Sevagram. Lastly, I am very much thankful to HOD sir, Principal sir, and those who are directly

with Er. Shraddha Galgate, IBM, Pune, Alumni of 2013 batch on 9th August 2016 in the
afternoon session by Prof A. P. Bagade. This session was organized for final year students.
Interaction session was basically on the career guidance and job recruitment, how to prepare for
campus. Er. Shraddha guided students about what after Engineering one can do? How should be
prepared for in campus and off campus, what should be the approach of students, how should
they prepare themselves for campus, how they can make their personality. She explained
students the complete market scenario and in conclusion to all students got motivation and
guidance towards future regarding career. Also many queries of career related madam solved and
answered with some solutions to it.

guest lecture on “IoT using Raspberry Pi” by Er. Swapnil Katole, Director, Technovision
Technology private Ltd., Wardha in A.P.J Abdul Kalam Hall for third year and final year
students.. This guest lecture was organized by Prof A. P. Bagade. At the starting Er. Swapnil has
started with some examples of the existing earlier technologies and their limitations, Then later
on he has explained what is the future of Electronics Industry and which are the current and
future trends Finally he has switched to Internet Of Things. He also explained how the work and
things become easy when it is operated with internet.

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering had organized the
industrial tour for VI sem Students of I shift and II shift in academic session 2016-2017 as the
part of academic on 3rd - 4th February 2017 at Shri. Balaji Industries and Shiva Rubber Industries
Pvt. Ltd., MIDC, Nandvgaon Peth, Amravati. The Tour was extended at destination Chikhaldara.
The total 54 students of 3rd year (Ist & IInd Shift), Electronics & Telecommunication
Engg. Department along with 4 faculty members (In charge Tour Prof. Ms. J. D. Dhande, Prof.
S. R. Salwe, Prof. S. P. Ritpurkar and Prof. V. M. Revatkar) and 1 non-teaching faculty (Mr.
Sanjay Raut) went for an industrial visit to the Shri. Balaji Industries Pvt. Ltd. on 3-02-17. We
all assembled at the college at 6.30 a.m. and traveled towards the site by bus. We reached the
Industries at 11 a.m. The Industries in-charge Mr. Pankaj sir of production received us at the
entrance and gave a brief introduction and live demo about their PVC pipe manufacturing and
Rubber manufacturing Unit.
It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit. Students of Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering learned about Control system, Automation and about
manufacturing basic units. We express our thanks to the Principal and Head of the department
who permitted us to go on the visit.

Civil department has arranged the surveying camp for 2nd year students from 8th to
14th Feb 2017. Teacher staff was present there with students. The visit spots were Kokan. The

THE FIRST LAB gives platform to the students to learn, explore and present. For the
membership in lab students need to make projects on a very small idea and need to demonstrate
in front of everyone. Total 15-17 teams were there which had 4 members from second year. In
the whole process each team were given a coordinator from third year students. Along with
project their presentation skills and knowledge was tested. This whole was scheduled on 7
August 2016. Best three projects were given the prizes as well.

It is the matter of proud that this year also, 33 Students of Bapurao Deshmukh College of
Engineering, Sevagram has participated in Axis 2016, under the banner of “The First Lab”. It is
the Central India largest science and technology festival held at VNIT NAGPUR during 23 to
24th September 2016. The event was organized by “VNIT”. The event was sponsored by The
Times of India, Hero, Sony, ICAD and many more. Axis 2016 had also organized exhibitions on
Indian Army Exhibition and Indian Science Exhibition. The students participated in various
events like Aqua Hunt, Kartavya, RoboSeviour and Crepido. Amol Vaidya, Suchak Dagwar,
Amit Bilwane and Saurabh Jaunjal won second prize in CFREPIDO.

The National Conference on “Applications of Mechanical Engineering” (AME-2016)
was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on September 23, 2016 under the
convenership of Dr. M. J. Sheikh, Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engg. & Co-Convenership of
Prof. R. B. Salwe. Prof. N. M. Badole and Prof. S. M. Fulmali were the coordinators for the
event. There has been an overwhelming response to the call of papers of the National Conference
AME-2016. Around 160 numbers of full length papers have been received from the Researchers
and Academicians of the leading institutes and organizations from in and out of Maharashtra.
However, only about 150 quality papers have been finally selected based on the
recommendations of Reviewers for presentation and inclusion in the souvenir. By and large these
technical papers give a true account of current research and development trends in the field of
Mechanical Engineering.

Program Details - Industrial visit inculcates a facility to showcase implementation of theoretical
knowledge into practice in an industry. To avail this facility to students, Department of
Management Technology, BDCE, Sevagram organized a one day industrial tour to Parle
Industries, Nagpur on 16-09-2016.
In Parle Industries, Nagpur students got an opportunity to understand Biscuit
manufacturing process which Mass Production Concept. All students applauded the efforts taken
by their college to organize industrial visit and expected the same every year. Total 20 students
accompanied with Prof. Sumit Sharma & Prof. S.S.Kitey went on the industrial tour. Dr. M. A.
Gaikwad, Principal of BDCE and Dr. R. O. Panchariya, Head of MBA department gave their

“Soft Skill Training Workshop” aimed to enrich soft skills of the BDCE students to
prepare them for the upcoming Campus Recruitment Process. Subodh Deshmukh, CEO of
Rangshastra Textiles, Hyderabad explained that effective communication and interpersonal skills
are very crucial to increase employment opportunities in the Campus Recruitment Process. He
addressed the students about soft skills they required during the Campus Recruitment. He
advised students to be patient and confident to face the campus placement process. He also
explained that the requirement of various companies as the required soft skills will be different
according to the company’s requirement. He has conducted various Mock Group Discussion,

Nawal, Collector, Wardha(District) as a Chief Guest. In his speech, he said, such events create a

Inauguration of III Meet - 2017
Mr. Shashikant Deshpande Talked about the Importance of Facts & Figs in employability and
explained the expectations of IT Industry from fresh graduates. He emphasized the parameters to
be considered for bright career. Dr. Ram Wagh Appealed students to attempt for MPSC, UPSC
and other Competitive Examination and explained success mantras to crack the Civil Services
Exams. He emphasized the need of positive approach in life. Mr. Adya Prasad explained the
required technical skills in order to meet the expectations of the Steel Industry. He discussed
about the national and global prospects of steel industry. Dr. M. A. Gaikwad Explained the
requirement of making students more technically competent and discussed about the need of III
meet and how it is beneficial for both. He emphasized that students have to be scientifically
trained to take on global challenges. Mr. Abdul Zubair explained the initiatives taken by Wardha
IT Park to prepare the skilled manpower required by the Industries in the region. Prof. Anand
Manjarkhede delivered the Vote of thanks of the inaugural function.

The panel discussion was followed Q&A Session from the students who came from
various colleges in and around vidharbha and proved to be very beneficial for budding engineers.
The eminent personalities encouraged this effort of college as III meet is the need of hour as
being the only platform to showcase the best and latest practices of industries. The summit was
concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Abhay Bagade, Coordinator.

Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA)
Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering, Sevagram as Mentoring Institute of
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for "Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA)", an a
convergent framework by the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD) of
Government of India, New Delhi with an objective to provide support and a platform to schools
to make Science, Mathematics and Technology interesting for children and motivate them to
develop a natural curiosity towards learning Science and Mathematics.
Main aims and objectives of RAA are as follow:
Aims:
• While emphasising the primacy of the schools and classroom transactions, the RAA aims
to leverage the potential for science, mathematics and technology learning in non-
classroom settings. Beyond the four walls of a classroom, opportunities for science,
mathematics and technology learning abound.
• Accordingly, the ‘Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA)” is planned to provide nourishing
and nurturing support to and a platform for schools in a dual track approach to make
Science, Mathematics and Technology exciting to children and encourage them to have
an enduring interest both inside classroom and outside classroom activities.
Objectives:
• To enable children to become motivated and engaged in Science, Mathematics and
Technology (SMT) through observation, experimentation, inference drawing, model
building, rational reasoning, testability etc.
• To create curiosity, excitement and exploration among school children in Science,
Mathematics and Technology.
• To create a culture of thinking, inventing, tinkering and doing to promote enquiry based
learning in Schools.
• To achieve learning levels appropriate to the classes of study in Science and
Mathematics.
• To encourage and nurture schools to be incubators of Innovation.
On 3rd January 2017, BDCE-RAA Cell has organized interaction program in Yashwant
Mahavidyalaya Wardha to provide nourishing and nurturing support to XII Science students to
make Electronics exciting to children and encourage them to have an enduring interest both
inside classroom and outside classroom activities.
The program was begun with aim and objectives of RAA. Prof. N. P. Bobade started the
interaction program with introduction of Electronics Engineering. He discussed about different
types of Electronic components like resistor, capacitor, diode, LED, LDR, Transistor,
Thermistor, Relays and their applications. He taught how to use electronics components in
hobby projects. Students were interacted with initial preparation of hobby electronics projects.
Also Prof. S. N. Deshmukh & RAA team demonstrated the different electronics projects. The
program was attended by more than 55 Students of Yashwant Mahavidyalaya Wardha.Prof. U.
T. Fasage, Dr. Mrs. S. B. Diwate, Prof. N. P. Shende, Prof. A. A. Mangle were present for this
interactive program.
We are very much thankful of Dr. M. A Gaikwad, Principal, BDCE, Sevagram, Dr. M. D.
Choudhary, Coordinator of Engg. & Tech. RTMNU, Nagpur, Dr. Vilas Deshmukh, Principal,
Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya Wardha, Dr. A. S. Patil, BDCE, Sevagram for providing such a
innovative platform.
Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering has organized a seminar on topic “Compuer
hardware and basic software” under the banner of “Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan” in Yashwant
Vidyalaya Sevagram on 17th September 2016. Session was held by Prof. S. M. Sakharkar and
Prof. K.A.Pakojwar . Approximately 110 students of standard 10th were present for the
programme. After the seminar student interaction session was held with faculties of RAA team.

GANESH FESTIVAL – 2016
On occasion of Ganesh chaturthi , ganesh festival is celebrated in college premises every
year with full of joy and excitement . This year the festival was taken under mechanical
department under the guidance of Prof.M.S.Jibhakate and Prof B.V.Lande on 5th September.
The festival inculcated various programs such as rangoli competition, singing and dance
competition , DJ night etc . followed by Mahaprasad bhoj given in very eco friendly way , and
finally ends with ganesh virajan program.
