Climate change impacts every aspect of living, from choices of energy consumption to reframing climate resilient livelihoods in agriculture and industry, from redefi ning pollution frameworks to addressing concerns in urban planning, transport, individual lifestyles and ethical consumerism.

The environmental issues and implementation of environmental laws should be handled by qualifi ed and technically competent persons to avoid closures of the industries and businesses due to non-compliance, to check unplanned growth and overall environmental protection and contribute to sustainable development.

Program Structure

Pedagogy

The 2-year PGDM-EM programme is to be offered in 6 trimesters of 13 weeks duration each,comprising of 35 courses of 30 hours class room contact/course and 105 credits, including a 8 week Summer Internship Project after 1st year. The Summer Internship will have 3 credits equivalent value. A wide range of courses are included in the curriculum.

Lead: EPTRI believes that students learn the best when the environment provides them with the opportunities to Learn, Do and Lead. The learning revolves around interactive class room lectures, case studies, group discussions, presentations, projects, assignments, immersions.

Sesha Srinivas Principal

Kalyan Chakravarthy Faculty

He is an astute professional with over 25 years of experience in Chemical / instrumental analysis of various Environmental / Pharmaceutical components. He heads EPTRI Laboratory and Climate change divisions. Executed many Environmental Baseline Data (BLD) projects for various prestigious organizations like SCCL, APMDC, APIIC etc. Member of Environmental Management Sectional Committee, CHD:34 Bureau of Indian standards (BIS) and NABET Functional Area Expert for Water Pollution monitoring, Prevention and control. Sesha Srinivas is Ph.D in Chemistry from JNTU, Hyderabad. He guides Ph. D students of JNTU and is an external evaluator of Project thesis at JNTU.

He is an IAS Officer , an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, B. Tech from IIT Madras and B. L from Osmania University. He is pursuing Ph. D in Management & Economics from Osmania University. He is Director General of EPTRI. He held various positions in the Govt. of Assam and Govt. of India in the Departments of Agriculture, Finance, Revenue, District Administration, Urban Development Administration and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. His current focus is to make EPTRI an international hub for environmental protection.

P.V.R.S.Surendra FacultyHe is M.Tech in water resources engineering and P.G.Diloma in Environmental Engineering with graduation in Civil Engineering. He has 22 years of Engineering, Research and Teaching experience in the field of Environment. He heads Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) and Environmental Quality Mapping (EQM) Divisions in EPTRI. He is a guest lecturer at ESCI, MCRHRD, IMSME, State PCB, JNTU, Hyderabad, Govt. Institute of Post Diploma Courses Engineering and Technology (GIPDCE), Hyderabad, HCU, etc., He services as a Faculty for EPTRI training programmes and guides M.Sc and M.Tech students in their thesis works.

Dr. Jyothi Konda Faculty

She is a faculty member of ENVIS (ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS) and she is presently working on Conserving Eastern Ghats. Dr. Jyothi finished her PhD on “Aeropplaynological studies of Exhibition Grounds, Hyderabad- Its Impact on public health” for which she received National Young Scientist GREGORY AWARD in 2007. Her active involvement in the EIA and EMP studies for roads, cyclones shelters and bridges proposed under the National Cyclone Risk mitigationprojects encouraged her to teach about the importance of environment management and biodiversity.

Dr. Suneela Motati Faculty She is an expert on Air pollution monitoring analysis and laboratory works. She finished her PhD in science in 2002 from NEERI, Nagpur. She published manypapers and has 16 years of teaching experience in science and environment. Her work was published in a three book entitled “Environmental issues and Origins”, “Environmental Education” & “Environmental Pollution and its Management”. She is presently working on SoE (State of Environment) Report for Telangana State. In 2001, Dr. Suneela was awarded the “Best Student Paper presentation in a session on Energy and Air Pollution and Control Technologies”.

Ramesh Reddy Adjunct FacultyHe is an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and B. Tech from IIT Madras. In his career of 24 years, he built businesses across Information Technology, Manufacturing and Renewable Energy domain. He co-founded and helped scale Cambridge Energy Resources and Virinchi Technologies Ltd. and assisted over 10 manufacturing units in their growth strategy.He is a partner in a leading Solar EPC company in India, setup 2 successful businesses in Solar Energy, was part of Four IPO companies. Raised funds of over $ 100 mn and was part of 8 successful M&A deals.

Kavitha Sanneboyina FacultyShe did her Masters in Microbiology, Masters in Environment Management from JNTUH and PG Diploma in Environmental Management. She is a faculty in Environment Engineering and Management Division and is actively involvement in the EIA and EMP studies for VKPCPIR, NCRMP and FAB city Projects. She also took active part in the preparation of State Action Plan for Climate Change (SAPCC) for Telangana. She is a faculty for EPTRI training programmes for IFS on EIA, for Mayors, Environment Engineers and Commissioners etc.

Dr. Kamala CT FacultyShe is a DST-Fast Track Young Scientist, National Geophysical Research Institute and a Scientist at Analytical Laboratory of EPTRI. She pursuing Post Doctoral studies in Environmental Sciences / Risk Assessment studies. She is a Ph. D in Phytoremediation studies from JNTU Hyderabad / Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, a Post Graduate in Environmental Science and Technology from JNTU Hyderabad and a Graduate from Osmania University. Her research, in Environmental and human risk assessment studies due to platinum group metals, was presented at 18 National and international conferences and was published in 18 National and International in high impact factor journals.

Rahul Reddy Regatte Faculty He did his Masters of Management (Human Resource) and Masters in Environmental Engineering from Australia. He is presently working as Environmental Engineer coordinating “State of Environment” report for Telangana state and “Mitigation plans for Climate Change in India” for MoEF & CC. Prior to EPTRI he worked in Coles Group as Asst. Manager. His present research and fields of interest is on resource management of Municipal Solid Waste and E-waste.

Shaik Allavali Faculty

He holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from IIT Mumbai. He has worked on several World Bank Projects, attended various National and International Con-ferences, have international publication. He is continuously working on Environmental, Social and Sustainable Development related projects.

M S Ramesh Adjunct FacultyMBA from IIM, Ahmedabad and Graduated from TNAU, Coimbatore in the field of Agriculture and Agricultural Economics.

He worked in Agri-input industries like Hoechst India Ltd (now Bayer), Coromandel Industries Ltd and Netafim Irrigation India Ltd, an Israel based multinational for 26 years. He specializes in sales & marketing and during his career he executed various national and international projects involvingproduction, distribution and implementation. He has taught courses in MANAGE, Hyderabad for 2 years.

Vijay Sagar Adjunct Faculty

He is a mechanical engineer from IIT Madras and a gold medallist in MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. In his 31 years of working career he played multiple roles as Project manager of an MNC, Owner of a manufacturing business and retired as a Vice President.

After retirement he took up teaching of management courses in IIM Lucknow, ICFAI, WLC and Roots besides being a trainer of Corporates in sales, marketing & business strategy. He is also an International Standards Verifier for Pearsons- Edexcel in the area of management studies. He was a lead auditor for ISO 9000 and have been trained in UK for business studies & Quality Control.

Prof. Dr. P.V. Lakshmipathy Adjunct FacultyHe is a Ph.D. in Management, MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, B.E. (Electronics) from M.I.T. and B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry)He is an International Trainer and Academic Institution builder with an outstanding record and reputation of bringing transformation, learning and energy wherever he goes. Over the last 4 decades, he has trained over 100,000 managers worldwide; and has the credit of set-ting up, and heading, management institutions both in India and abroad.

Surya Rao Nanduri Adjunct FacultySurya is an MBA (Operations & Finance) from IIM Lucknow and a B.Tech (Chemical) from IIT Madras, with around 23 years of working experience in Energy, Information Technology and Financial services. He travelled widely, on various business and consulting engagements, to around 15 countries, and brings in immense learning from various parts of the globe. Surya is an Energy Risk Professional (ERP) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He is also a Data Science professional, certified by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Yugandhar Adjunct Faculty

He is a B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur with MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He has over 2 decades of experience in Business Analytics, Information Technology, Management Consutling, Operations and Sales & Marketing in the international work experience in the likes of Tech Mahindra and Dell in. He is currently associated as a senior partner with Lodestone Learning an accredited training and consulting partner of SAS Inc. He is also currently associated as Head of Business Analytics at Lexicon Infotech. Yugandhar is certified and accredited trainer on SAS Enteprirse Miner (a flagship data mining software from SAS). He has hands on experience with R (an opensource analytics tool). He has hands on experience using different advanced analytical techniques viz. Logistic Regres-sion, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Association Rules and Recommender Systems.

Sowjanya Bonda Adjunct Faculty

She is an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad and Bachelors of Engineering (CSE) from OU College of Engineering.She is a Partner at AND Consulting. She has over 10 years of experience in Financial Consulting and fund raising. She was earlier part of 2 startups and worked with over 30 startups in various capacities. Her consulting experience spans across IT/ITES, Renewable Energy, Agriculture and Infrastructure Domains.

V Krishna Kanth Visiting FacultyHe is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and Mechanical Engineering from University College of Engg. OU.He is an epitome of exceptional aptitude and diligence, with numerous International publications and awards from MIT (USA), IIT B, IIT Kgp, IIT K, IIT R, IIT D, IIT M and IIT G. He has won numerous accolades in Inter-National & National symposia and was also a chess champion at the university. He worked on a course with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on National Rural Health Mission project. He has successfully executed Consulting projects with FORTUNE 500 list companies, various Media houses, State governments of AP, TS and Govt of India.

Sandeep Ganji Visiting FacultyHe is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He started his career in the UK retail industry in 2003 and embarked on my consulting career in 2005. His consulting career allowed him to manage large client accounts and consulting practices. He headed SAP CRM and SAP ISU practice, comprising 300+ consultants, at HCL Technologies India. He enjoys mentoring startups and mentored a brick and mortar start-up right from inception to acquisition.

Pavan Kumar Vishnubhatla Visiting FacultyHe is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, M. Tech from IIT, Kharagpur and B.E from CBIT, Hyderabad. Pavan is a seasoned Manufacturing professional and has around 9 years of experience in Ashok Leyland Ltd where he was recognized as one of the Emerging leaders in the Company. His areas of expertise include project planning, operations, lean manufacturing and quality management systems. He is also a senior member of Indian institution of Industrial Engineers. Pavan loves playing volleyball & table tennis.

• Environmental Sensitivity: Ozone depletion and Global warming are no more future threats. Their detrimental impacts are increasing becoming visible in various forms. The nations of the world have come together and signed a treaty at Paris Climate Conference (COP21). Fee Structure

The Fee for the 2 year PGDM-EM program is Rs.670,000/ (Rupees Six Lakhs Seventy Thousand Only) with an additional refundable Interest free Security Deposit of Rs.50,000/ (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only). The fee also includes the cost of Laptop, towards lodge & board, tuition, library, examination, medical, insurance, broad band Internet, graduation day expenses, electricity charges, Journal fee, student welfare fund, admission fee, summer Internship facilitation fee, placement assistant fee.

About Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI)

EPTRI was set up in 1992 in Hyderabad, India as an independent society with the assistance of State Government and Government of India. Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) initially provided technical assistance.

EPTRI is in the midst of one of world’s largest IT hubs; close to Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, ISB, IIIT.

EPTRI’s core strength are the professionals from various fields of science and engineering - environment, spatial engineering, chemical, physics, Geology, geography, botany, zoology, bio-technology, social sciences, life sciences, solid waste management, STPs, Bio-medical waste and management. EPTRI has National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET)’s accredited Engineers and Scientists in various sectors like power, irrigation, Special Economic Zones, etc.

With the past experience of associating with University of Hyderabad for MBA programme and of conduct-ing more than 5000 programmes for both national and international participants (about 50,000) on various top-ics related to environment and sustainable development, EPTRI is starting a course on Post Graduate Diploma in Management- Environment Management.
