Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Revised April 2019

The Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree requires a minimum of 120 semester credits (SC) of coursework: 45 SC of

general education core & program perquisites; 69 program semester credits; and an additional 6 SC upper level electives.

Prerequisite Courses: For first consideration, all application materials should be received by March 1. All application materials should be received by June 1 to be considered for the regular’s admission cycle. Late application may not be reviewed after this date.

Completion of these courses does not, by itself, guarantee admission to the dental hygiene program. PROGRAM PREREQUISITES-51

The following courses or their equivalents are prerequisites for admission to the dental hygiene program and

must be completed prior to enrollment in the dental hygiene program. For first consideration, all application materials

should be received by March 1. All application materials should be received by June 1 to be considered for the regular’s

admission cycle. Late application may not be reviewed after this date. Beginning with the 2019 application cycle,

students anticipating entering the program in the fall of 2019 will be required to submit their ACT scores as part of

the application process. The optional writing test is not required. Official ACT scores documented on high school

transcripts are acceptable. Please refer to act.org for information on registering for the test or obtaining

scores. Courses other than those listed below may not be accepted, so please call to inquire if deviating from

the course list below.
