The Terence L Jones Diversity Award is presented to outstanding Racial Awareness Program (RAPP) members who have contributed to the success of their group over the academic year. Members are selected for this award based on their commitment to the program, their genuine contribution to the RAPP process, and their continued encouragement of their peers’ development. RAPP established this award in the mid-1990s in memory of Terence L Jones, a member of RAPP VII, who passed away in 1991.

Margaret Kacher and Sheri Ann Bloom were exceptional students devoted to the University of Cincinnati. In 1985, UC suffered the loss of both of these promising young women to untimely deaths. To recognize and remember these two exceptional UC alumni, the scholarship fund recognizes a current, full-time student entering his/her senior year who exemplifies excellence in academics, devotion to student activities and community service and a strong sense of loyalty and commitment to the University of Cincinnati.

The Cincinnatus Honorary Society was founded in 1917 by the senior class to foster strongrelationships between graduating students and alumni. Since then, the group has expanded itsmission to include student recruitment and retention, as well as the advancement of theUniversity of Cincinnati’s overall prestige. The Spirit of Cincinnatus Award recognizes a student organization that shares in our mission ofselfless service to the University of Cincinnati.

The Men of Metro, founded at the University of Cincinnati in 1946, seek to promote leadership and spirit among the students, faculty, and staff of the university. One of the ways in which this is done is through our Bearcat Spirit Cup. The purpose of the cup is to encourage strong attendance and spirit from the student body at various athletic and campus events. The award is given to the student organization that consistently shows Bearcat pride and spirit through regular attendance at athletic and campus events.

Omicron Delta Kappa is the National Leadership Society. The University of Cincinnati circle of Omicron Delta Kappa is proud to provide its annual award, the Sophomore Leader of the Year. We believe it is important to encourage success to those young students who have exemplified outstanding leadership in their short time at the university. Students that are in their second year at the University of Cincinnati and have a sophomore standing were eligible for nomination. Student nominees must have excelled in collegiate leadership and have exemplary academic achievements.
