Presentation Software Lab 1:  PowerPoint The PowerPoint files you create throughout this lab must be saved so you can turn them in electronically.  You will also be turning in PARTIAL printouts required for the various exercises. (6 slides per page).

BE VERY CAREFUL IN ONLY PRINTING WHAT IS NECESSARY.  NONE OF THESE EXERCISES REQUIRE A PRINTOUT OF ONE SLIDE PER PAGE. 

1. Download the following files from the instructor’s web site:

2. Execute the tutorial on pages PP1.2 – PP1.36 of your lab manual.

PP1.13 – Note: zoom already at 100%

PP1.22 – The delete button has been removed; instead click on the Slide icon next to Header of the slide in the Outline pane then hit “Delete.”

3. Execute the tutorial on pages PP1.37 – PP1.73 of your lab manual.

PP1.62 – The picture may not show up in the pane; just select an appropriate replacement.

4. Execute the tutorial on pages PP2.1 – PP2.56 (stopping at Adding Freehand Annotations). Continue on PP2.59 (with Hiding Slides) – PP2.68.

PP2.17 – Align text button has been replaced by 3 alignment buttons; select the middle one.

PP2.23 – The shapes button has been replaced by the shapes selection box; simply click on the drop down button to navigate to the heart shape.

PP2.37 – There is no Text color 2 Dark, instead pick an appropriate replacement.

PP2.47 – “Custom animation” button has been replaced by “Animation Pane” button.

PP2.48 – Select the heart first then click on “Add Animation” under Advanced Animation. Select the Entrance option.

To edit the effect, on the Animation Pane click the drop down button and select “Effect Options…” OR select “Effect Options” from Advanced Animation. Ignore Speed.

PP2.49 – Instead of the animate drop down box, use the “Add Animation” as in the previous direction and select “One by One” under the “Effect Options.”

PP2.52 – Select “Wipe,” then select “From Left” under “Effect Options.” Same for “Push Right.”

PP2.53 – Random transitions were removed from 2010; just select a transition you feel is best suited.

5. On page 2.87, do Lab Exercise 5. Enhancing the Coffee Presentation.

What to turn inYou will need to turn in the following PowerPoint exercises both in electronic form and as printouts (6 slides per page).
