The IDRBT Director
Reserve Bank of India established IDRBT in the
year 1996 for promoting development andresearch in the area of Banking Technology. Aspart of building the HR skills to meet the researchand development activities, IDRBT, incollaboration with University of Hyderabad, hasbeen offering M Tech (IT) programme with focuson Banking Technology.
The syllabus of the two‐year post‐graduateprogramme includes important topics likeinformation security, cryptography, databasemanagement and networks in addition to bankingtechnology and quantitative techniques forfinance. The wide range of topics give studentsthe necessary skills in information technology andits applications.
As part of the programme, students take up arigorous one year project work under theguidance of faculty of IDRBT at the state‐of‐theart labs specializing in the areas like analytics,mobile security, and information assurance. Theyalso get exposed to infrastructure of importanceto nation’s financial systems such as INFINET,SFMS, and CA.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Library: The university library has a richcollection of books for our students. It also provides Internet BrowsingArea, Laptop Zone and Wi-Fi facilities. The library havesubscription for a wide variety of journals.
As one of the India’s promised top‐edged university itnot only maintains a jealous top position in India, ittoo maintains of India’s two great titles with its 2300acres green campus: 2nd “largest University” and 2nd in“University having Environment friendly and greencampus”. About IDRBT
Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT)
IDRBT was established by the Reserve Bank of India in March 1996, as an autonomous body. The Institute pioneers the modernization process by introducing Information Technology to the Indian Banking and Financial Sector. IDRBT has taken the lead – from anticipating the technology requirements, developing solutions to creating and customizing IT and IT infrastructure for the benefit of the Indian Banking and Financial Sector.
• The IDRBT has created the nationwide communication backbone for the Indian banking industry – the INdian FInancialNETwork (INFINET)
• IDRBT is also a Certifying Authority (CA) under the IT Act 2000
• the Institute launched the framework of Structured Financial Messaging System (SFMS)
• All National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) messages are routed through a hub hosted by IDRBT
• IDRBT has also set up Indian Banking Technology Consortium (IBTC) to guide banks on the latest in financial technology.
• It has highly specialized Executive Development Programmes that are conducted for banking professionals exposing them to state‐of‐the‐art developments in Information Technology.
