Collaborative networkTo establish a network of researchers who focus

on identifying and understanding neurodevelopmental disorders in a global context.

• Formation of a strong collaboration for future studies, ideas, programmes within this area of work

• To “develop research capacity by sharing expertise and good practice in conducting studies on children identified with neurodevelopmental disorders in varied contexts using mixed methods”.

Specific aims

• “Creation of a bank of items which are valid, feasible, reliable for identifying and predicting neurodevelopmental problems in the longer term”.

• Identification of existing cohort studies that capture child development.

• Writing a joint grant for next year.

Aims and objectives of MRC Collaborative grant

• “In order to conduct studies looking at the aetiology and epidemiology of neurodevelopmental disorders in children – we need tools that can feasibly screen and identify children early with these disorders”.

• “Seeks to address major challenge of identifying children with neurodevelopmental disorders in LMIC/global settings in first 3 years of life”.

• Overall aim: To generate the evidence for diagnostic utility of items for a screening tool for the early identification of children with neurodevelopmental disorders in LMIC/global settings.
