With a warm welcome and professionalism from our staff, a choice of reception suites and our appetizing menus, the University of Southampton is proud of it’s reputation for offering some of the best wedding receptions in the area.

The Hospitality team will take care of every detail and all your special requirements right from your initial enquiry through to your event.

Great care has been taken in the creation of our wedding portfolio, leaving you free to concentrate on enjoying this most important occasion. You can rely on us to attend to every detail and any special requirements you may have.

FacilitiesNo matter what size your wedding celebration may be our Staff Social Centre with its magnificent view over the University grounds, can provide that extra something to make your special day one that neither you nor your guests will forget.

Garden Court RestaurantThe surrounding views of the landscaped gardens and abundance of natural daylight makes the Garden Court a popular choice for larger wedding parties.

Used together with the Hartley Suite, this area provides ample space for a bar, reception drinks, informal gathering of guests, dining room, dance floor and an evening buffet.

Hartley SuiteA versatile suite with views overlooking the landscaped gardens, the Hartley Suite has a private bar and makes the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and evening party.

• Use of cake stand and knife

In addition, we can offer various tailor made packages to suit your requirements on your wedding day.

Drinks SelectionsAdd a drinks package of your choice to provide your guests with a selection of drinks to enjoy throughout the day including: arrival drinks, wine with your meal and a drink to toast. An extensive list of wines is also available if you would like to upgrade your wine selection within your chosen package.

3 Course Wedding BreakfastChoose a starter, main course and a dessert from our Wedding Breakfast Menu for all your guests to enjoy. Complimentary room hire is included in this package.

CanapésCanapés can be added as an optional extra and as an accompaniment to your reception drinks.

Evening Finger BuffetsIn addition to your wedding breakfast, an evening finger buffet can be served. For an evening buffet, 75% of the total number of guests must be catered for.

ChildrenWe welcome children and can provide High Chairs upon request. For Children under the age of 14, a half portion is available. For children 14 and above, a full portion will be served and charged for. A special children’s menu is available for children under the age of 10.

Booking TermsWe are happy to provisionally hold a date for two weeks with no obligation. After this time an initial non-refundable deposit of £500.00 is required to secure the date. A contract with our terms and conditions will then be issued outlining an itinerary of the day and final payment terms.

Seating Plan and Place CardsFor an additional charge we can provide your seating plan, place cards and personalised menus.

WinesWe regret that we are unable to offer wine on a ‘corkage’ basis. However, an extensive list of wines is available. If you have any preferred wines which are not featured on the wine list then please discuss with your wedding co-ordinator. If a drinks package is not chosen, we recommend half a bottle of wine per person for the Wedding Breakfast.

Bar FacilitiesThroughout your wedding reception you will have access to your own private bar, serving a wide selection of beverages on a cash basis. Normal bar closure is 11pm, with 30 minutes drinking up time, however a bar license extension can be provided until 1am, at an additional cost.

Room Set UpAll rooms are set up Banquet Style for your Wedding Breakfast unless otherwise specified. This set up creates a pleasant social atmosphere. Each table will seat 10 people. You may choose a straight or a round top table.

Master of CeremoniesOur Duty Manager can act as Master of Ceremonies, guiding you throughout the day and announcing all formalities.

PricesAll prices shown include VAT at the current rate and are subject to increase without notice.

Additional ServicesWe are happy to recommend a florist, photographer, entertainment and wedding cake confectioner. Please call our wedding co–ordinator to discuss details.
