• verification of welding procedures
• testing of weldability
• expertise
Cooperation with industry:
• underwater operations, such as inspections and repairs
• complex repairs by applying welding joining processes
• supervision of welding operations in the fabrication of structures,
such as bridges, storage tanks, pipelines, supporting structures
• certification of the companies engaged in the fabrication of
welded structures according to the national standards
Cooperation with industry:
• education of welders, following the EWF, IIW guidelines,
for the European Welder qualification, conferences and fairs
• Aluminium foam sandwich panels produced by
Pohltec metalfoam GmbH, Germany.
• Thickness of the panel is 12 mm.
• Cover layer is made of 1 mm thick EN AW 6082-T4
aluminium alloy sheets.
• Core is made of AlMg3Si6 aluminium foam.
Welding of stainless steel
requires groove
preparation for
thicknesses above 3 mm!
Development of Active flux for TIG Welding
Some of the components
for producing active flux
for stainless steels!
Development of Active flux for TIG Welding
Joint research with ELEKTRODA ZAGREB:
- development of Active flux for TIG Welding
- development of filler materials for CrNi steels, CrMo steels, Ni alloys etc.
- development of electrodes for underwater wet welding
