NOT SURE HOW TO “READ” A SKETCH?
Not a problem — check out the details on the next page!

WHAT ARE SCRAPBOOK SKETCHES?
Think of sketches as “blueprints” for creating pages. They feature outlines for
scrapbook layouts that give you an idea where to place your papers, photos,
embellishments, titles and journal. They typically come in grayscale tones to help
you picture the page designs using the products and tools you have on hand.
HOW DO I “READ” A SKETCH?
The following gives examples of what each shape on a sketch
layout could represent but remember — it’s up to YOU!
Dark rectangle or square boxes: Photos
Corresponding shades: Can suggest using the same designer
paper, cardstock or mats
Journal or lines: Place to write and journal
Title: Large writing, die cut, title sticker
or ABC Stickers
Other shapes: Embellishments or stickers
Long rectangles or circles: Die-cut border embellishments, border stickers,
Border Maker Cartridge or border punch borders
Rectangle or square boxes: Papers or mats
DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SKETCH EXACTLY?
Think of sketches as guidelines. You can pick and choose the elements that
appeal to you, create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece loosely based on the sketch
or completely scrap-lift the whole layout (this is perfectly acceptable, and in fact,
highly encouraged). A scrap-lifted sketch layout is pictured below!
WHY ARE SKETCHES SO GREAT?
Where to begin?! The simplicity of sketches allows you to get
creative with your scrapbook pages without having to come up with
your own layout or design ideas every time. You can also use any
product assortment you like and any number of photos. You’ll quickly
see that using different products and photos gives you a completely
different look each time, making sketches incredibly versatile!

HOW TO USE YOUR JUMBO CIRCLE CCS PATTERN
Follow these simple instructions to get started and share how you are using the

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Make sure your cutting
mat is on a flat surface.1.

Place the item you’d like to cut on your mat and
use the sizing template’s red, green and blue
coded lines (which align with the CCS blades) to
determine which blade to use for what you’d like
your finished cut to look like. (Red Blade cuts 1/16"
away from the inner and outer circle, Green Blade
cuts 3/16" away and Blue Blade cuts 5/16" away.)
You can use the Jumbo CCS Pattern
with cardstock and designer paper. After
500 cuts, you can purchase additional
replacement blades separately.
To cut, place the two feet of the blade into your
preferred ridge and press down lightly as you
move the blade around the circle. The V blade
will let you cut clockwise or counterclockwise.
When locked, the blade should glide and rotate
so you do not need to move your wrist.
Remove the sizing template and place the
Jumbo CCS Pattern on the item you are
cutting, ensuring the grips are facedown to
keep the CCS in place while you cut. The top
has ridges for an inside and outside circle.
