The ReHumanization of Work

Competitive Advantage

“Karl Marx would be amused. He longed for the day when the workers would own the means of production. Now they do.”

Charles Handy, Author and Philosopher

19

The ReHumanization of Work

The winners in this era are innovative companies that are the most knowledgeable users of

equipment (talent) to ever more efficiently turn raw materials (ideas) into finished products.

A time is coming, in the not too distant future, when leaders will know more

about the “human infrastructure”, than they do about their processes and

technology.

Workshop Logistics

• 1. Appoint a Captain – There is an instruction sheet for each Captain

• 2. Contributor Cards– Remember, every individual is a contributor. As

such, the final document will have a Contributors Index at the front of the document. Please begin by putting your business cards/contributor card in the red cup . Every workshop participant will receive a soft copy of the user manual they helped create.

Workshop Logistics

• 3: Human Factor of Innovation

– Each table has been assigned a human factor, or innovation best practice, to explore as a team. Your job, as captain, is to review this human factor with your tablemates. There is a primer on your human factor in your document. Please refer to it as needed. In addition, PeopleProductive Innovation Coaches are here and they will go from table to table, to feel the pulse, ask probing questions, and animate the workshop. This will help keep tables from stalling. Please ask your group to share their experiences, and creative thoughts, and capture them on the pad you have been provided.
