YOU HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE
80% of the worlds population live within 100mi of the coast
90% of the worlds goods travel by ship
The US coastline is 95,471 miles
Our EEZ is 7,053,184 sq miles – the world largest.
We only have explored about 5% of the worlds Oceans
“The ocean is the lifeblood of Earth, covering more than 70 percent of the planet's surface, driving weather, regulating temperature, and ultimately supporting all living organisms. Throughout history, the ocean has been a vital source of sustenance, transport, commerce, growth, and inspiration.
Yet for all of our reliance on the ocean, 95 percent of this realm remains unexplored, unseen by human eyes.”*

Why Don’t We Know More
Cost – It’s financially prohibitive to conduct persistent Ocean Observation For example: A manned scientific vessel costs approximately
$10,000 to $100,000 a day to operate.
Time/Size – The vast expanse of our Oceans requires significant persistence to adequately understand them.
Environment – The Oceans can be some of the harshest and most dangerous environments on the planet making them difficult to explore.
The Problem
Power to stay on mission for extended periods of time without refueling
AND
Power to supply sensors and sustain speed
9.3 Problem Statement:
“Endurance is perhaps one of the most compelling aspects of unmanned systems. The search continues for even more efficient systems to provide greater endurance, speed and range.”
USN Unmanned Systems Integrated Roadmap FY2011-2036
Ocean Aero has designed a "game changing" highly ruggedized surface & sub-surface vessel – “Submaran”, for use by commercial, government, military and scientific communities.
Zero Fossil fuels - Powered by wind and solar Highly Persistent - Capable of several months at Sea Easily Deployed from land, sea or air Single Surface and Subsurface vehicle Effective and Efficient Autonomy
The “Submaran” will be offered as a system for purchase or as a contracted service for gathering data.
What Are We Doing
Submaran UUSV
Submaran
Unmanned Underwater/Surface Vessel - UUSV
Surface – Wind propelled Solar powered Vehicle Speed – up to 6+ knots Submerged – Wingsail folds down,
keel up for hydrodynamic efficiency
Ballast controls buoyancy to submerge down to 200m (75 ft. 1st Generation)
Buoyancy changing (gliding) Auxiliary electric jet drive motors Completely scalable design
