THE GRIND

Day after day, grinding with

that "no turning back " attitude, no

matter how much I get kicked or

neglected, I march forth. Destiny calls out to me during

my peaceful sleep, and I wake up

with a smile everyday, looking

forward to talking, touching and

connecting with some of the greatestpeople I've ever known. See, life can

be amazing at the end of the hard

work, consistence and mastery. No

kidding.

 YOUNGER DAYS

When I was younger, I was

introduced to the Reverend  Robert  

H. Schuller , televangelist & authorof the book "Tough Times Never 

 Last & Tough People Do!" And that

book moved me, as did his cassette

tapes & TV show. Then I heard he

was to appear on Channel 4, "Live At

Progress = Constantand never-ending 

improvement

Five." And I rused (yes, lied!) my

way through Rockefeller Center

security until I moseyed past

David Letterman in the hallway

of NBC studios, and I found my

way to the "Green Room" just

before Rev was to go on air.

Years later, motivated & inspired by

singer Michael Jackson, I did the

same thing, and reasoned (?) my way

into the Museum of Natural History,

until I found myself schmoozing

with the entire Jackson family.

There were hundreds of people

outside, beyond police barriers, all

of them Jackson fans, all of them

with their shiny, glitter-glove

because they found out that suchwas the "invite" to get in (or so they

thought). But call me a party-

crasher, because decades later, I'm

the one here, with the photos to

show for it, with my history and

experience propelling me to greater

heights.

" And what's that, Sir? That 'Greater

 Height' you speak of?"

Its not that I shuffled into Russell

Simmons office to eventually strike

a deal to promote a concert with

him/his artists in my Mt Vernon,NY hometown...

Its not that I enacted the same gate-

crashing policy to eventually meet,

and become friends with/get training

from world renowned speaker Les

Brown...

Its not that I took it to new levels

and created and produced my own

TV show in the late 80s to late 90's,

to the point that I could become

friends with some of the worldsmost notable entertainers...

That greater height was not building

nightclubs, starting a magazine, or

even writing over 3 dozen novels,

OR the movies on the way...

It wasn’t so much as“how” I arrived or

achieved access intothese lives, events &

experiences, so

much as it was IBELIEVED THATTHIS IS WHERE IBELONGED. AND

I WAS NOTWILLING TO

TAKE “NO” ASAN ANSWER!I TOOK THE

COMMENT “ By

any means necessary”  to the uppermostextremes, and

long life of mine or the list of 

accomplishments...

That greater height is not mypartnering with this and that

Starbucks store, or with the

politicians, lawyers, doctors and

others who are now happy

clients...

HEIGHT FOR ME!

WHAT MATTERS MOST TOME IS THAT I'M STILL

GROUNDED! AND THAT I

HAVE EARNED THE LOVE, 

RESPECT AND GRATITUDE

FROM SO MANY PEOPLE,

ON SO MANY DIFFERENT

LEVELS; WHAT MATTERS

MOST TO ME IS THAT I CANLIVE EVERYDAY AS A RICH

ENGAGING CONTRIBUTION

IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS. I

CAN HELP PEOPLE AND

MATURE THEIR LIVES

WHETHER ITS BUILDING

THEIR BRAND, WRITING OR

OR EVEN INDULGING IN

AWARENESS ABOUT THE

AREAS IN WHICH I'M
