Unterwegs**In German there are two main ways to ask for

directions.

1. Using “wo ist”, e.g. „wo ist die Kirche?“ = where is the church?

2. Using „wie komme ich am besten“:

e.g. wie komme ich am besten zum Dom = how do I get to cathedral?/ wie komme ich am besten zur Jugendherberge = how to I get to the youth hostel?

• Important: You use “zum“ (literally zu dem (to the) for masculine and neuter nouns and “zur” (zu der) for feminine nouns.
