In response to the needs for a mechanism to directly engage young people, in consideration of the sector*s constitutional role and pro-active capacity for social change, a Youth dvisory 0oard Y0 will #e set up to monitor the implementation of the current 3evelopment ssistance 4ramework 34 as well as the (ustaina#le 3evelopment )oals (3)s and the formulation of the succeeding 34s. Terms of Reference

 I. Background

and networks, and with signi@cant eDperience in the promotion of rights and development of young people in national andCor localadvocacy and policy developmentB

6epresenting diversity of seD, age, ethnic and disadvantaged

#ackgrounds.etc. %ust not #e part of directive organs of political parties, #e involved

in politicalCelectoral campaigns or hold pu#lic elective o'ce in order

to ensure neutrality and compliance with ethical standardsB %ust not #e an employee of the nited ations (ystemB and

%ust #e willing to work on a voluntary #asis.

 The Y0 will aspire to achieve gender #alance in its mem#ershipcomposition. The Y0 must also ensure representation of youth from thefollowing su#-sectors=8

?I. Term%em#ers of Y0 will serve on an individual capacity for a period of twoyears and may only #e re-appointed for one 1 term through vettingprocess. To ensure greater youth involvement, no mem#er of Y0 shallserve for more than 2 terms and #eyond the age of $;.

?II. 'election Process!T will launch a call for nominations to the Y0, in a national#roadsheet newspaper and through social media. The individual shall #ere5uired to su#mit an accomplished application form, letter of intent andcopy of hisCher updated curriculum vitae, and at least two 2recommendation forms from youth organi"ations citing the individual*scapacity and achievements in pursuing youth development.

(election !ommittee composed of 7 mem#ers designated #y the !T,will #e formed #y the !T. The committee shall develop the process,tool, and timeline for the selection process, which will #e signed #y the 6esident !oordinator. 0ased on the recommendation of the selectioncommittee, the 6esident !oordinator will sign the appointment papersof the mem#ers of the Y0.

?III. (eetings The mem#ers of the Y0 will have a physical #oard meeting at leastonce a year, in a place designated #y the !T. %em#ers will developinternal rules and procedure on the conduct of their meetings, discussionsand consultations.

IJ. )ectivity and Amendments This Terms of 6eference shall #e in eect after careful deli#erations andapproval of the !T.

 This Terms of 6eference may #e reviewed #y the mem#ers of the Y0for amendments and recommend to the !T for appropriate action, asnecessary.
