ACA TRI-STATE CONFERENCE The Cayuga Year-Round Staff traveled to Atlantic City for the American Camping Association Tri-State Conference. During this week-long conference, we attended a variety of courses and seminars pertaining to campers and the camping industry. The courses covered a wide spectrum of topics including health, food service, activity programs, staff hiring practices, and new federal regulations. The courses were instructed by professionals who traveled around the world to share their expertise with us. We learned a lot and can’t wait to implement our new ideas this summer!

Who thinks they can set the record for most consecutive bullseyes at the Archery Range? Who can do the most flips in 30 seconds at Extreme Sport Jumping? Think you can get up the climbing tower the fastest? We’ll see this summer when campers prepare to enshrine themselves at camp forever! We will offer activities each week that allow campers to set and break records in their division. Some of the events will include: most foul shots made in one minute, most laps in the pool in 2 minutes, long jump, fastest 40-meter dash, longest time balancing a baseball bat on your chin and many many more! We’ll post the “Hall of Fame” activities during elective sign-ups. Campers who sign up will have the entire period to set/break the record of their choosing. Throughout the summer we’ll post the current record holders. This way, campers will always know who’s got the record to beat. Campers who hold the record for their Division at the end of the summer, will receive an official certificate naming them the “2020 Record Holder” in Cayuga’s “Hall of Fame”!

Junior Campus campers who are in the Elective Program. If you want to learn basic baking and cooking skills, all you have to do is sign-up. Have suggestions for certain dishes you’d like to learn how to prepare? Let us know! Bon appetite, let’s eat!

We all know that Cayuga has some of the best views in the Pocono Mountains, but now our views have gotten even better! Our wonderful maintenance crew is working hard to replace windows all around Teen Campus so that we can all truly appreciate those gorgeous Cayuga sunsets. Additionally, the

crew has been busy giving our Junior Campus bathrooms a facelift that we know you will love during Summer 2020. We can’t

wait for you to see what we’ve done!

This summer you can play a round of 9-holes at CRICKET HILL GOLF COURSE, which is only 30 minutes from Cayuga. The trips are scheduled about every 2 weeks. One Cayuga staff member is assigned to each foursome, and we provide you with golf clubs/bag and golf balls. Golf trips are optional, and all campers are eligible to participate. No advance registration form is required. You simply sign-up in the morning on the day of the golf trip. (By the way, you are permitted to bring your own golf clubs to camp.)
