Head of Sales and Marketing

The gravure printing process is initiated by the image being engraved into a copper cylinder, followed by a chroming of the cylinder. The cylinder then rotates in a bath of ink. As the cylinder rotates the excess ink is wiped off the cylinder by a flexible steel doctor blade. The ink remains in the recessed cells (engraved area) and then directly transfers to the substrate (paper, PET, PVC, OPP or other materials) as it passes between the cylinder and the impression roller.

GRAVURE PRINTING IS THE MARKET LEADER IN IMAGE QUALITY PROCESSES

The advantage of gravure printing is that it lays down a high quantity of ink; which ultimately results in a high quality, sharp, fine image. Gravure printing’s high image qualities are due to the excellent density, gradation control and metallic ink appearance that gravure printing allows. A rotogravure cylinder has a long service life and will yield a very large number of impres-sions without degradation of image quality.

PROCESS INOVATION

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENTOutsourcing, lean manufacturing,Just in time inventory While some of the best business strategies in the world can help minimize the cost and free you to focus competencies, these strategies also may stretch your supply chain to its breaking point. Without realizing it, your company best intention to become a fierce competitor can leave your company vulnerable. Over the last decade many companies faced extreme supply chain challenges that stretched their capabilities to the breaking point. Due to its global nature and systematic impact on the firm’s financial performance, the supply chain arguably faces more risks than other areas of the company, whether its dealing with Quality and safety challenges, simply shortages, legal issues, security problems, regulatory and environmental

compliances, weather and natural disasters or terrorism. There is always some elements of risks. The risk is driven by supply chain executives who often find themselves at the center of daily storm, striving to balance very demanding operational objectives while satisfying customers, cutting cost and helping grow revenue. They must deliver result today while working on capabilities that will make their companies competitive in the future.

Supply chain professionals have to deal with the unexpected day to day challenges some are as follows:• Customer demand changes• Problems at supplier which delay critically needed components.• Warehouse shortage that causes serious delays in customer shipments.• Production problems• Theft is a big concern

Process innovation is the fundamental and rational design of the activity to achieve dramatic improvement in contemporary measures of performance such as cost, quality, quantity, service and speed. Process innovation emphasizes in entire process rather than tuning frictional part. There is more emphasis on workforce and the approach may involve rethinking the entire process and its objective rather than focusing on individual process. Innovation can be applied to products, processes and designs and is aimed at the development of new core competences as a response to market action. The development of capabili-ties over the process is seen as pace of innovation.Increasing sophistication of demand and level of competition has led to innovate becoming a threshold competence itself. The idea that “What is good today, Will not be so tomorrow” has never been so relevant. Innovation can be used to reduce cost, provide basis for efficiency, add value, achieve premier target and create competitiveness in work force.

These can be done via certain organizational dimensions mainly Structure, Culture, Leadership, People and communication. In a precise way should be flexible to avoid hot of initiative should see failure as a learning experience and to be expected to lead the forces via communication the team-based approach creating ownership along with participation and creating awareness within the workforce. These dimensions are core elements of process innovation because these are integrated to human behaviorTherefore, Process innovation has the framework for assessing the priority for investment. At first, identify processes that are suitable for innovation. Secondly, identify change lever. Thirdly, develop processes visions. At fourth, understand and improve existing processes. At fifth, design and prototype new processes.

I joined this organization on1st Jan 2011 as an operator-lamination machine. At that time it was only a floor. Production started after 2 months of my joining. It was the positive intention of employer and with the team efforts that company started moving in the positive direction. Workers were not left behind. Every one of us was given courage to move up in the hierarchy. Our policy to promote from within the organization giving every worker equal chances for career growth. I can be referred as an example of this, when I joined, I was only an operator and now I am an Assistant Production Director.

What I believe if you work with honesty and dedication success will be yours. Obviously, parent prayer and Bosses like ours is a must.

Because of this policy there are so many who has joined this company as labor, loader and helper are now operator and Assistant operator.

I am proud of Universal Packaging Company (Pvt.) Ltd and pray for its growth and success. (Ameen)

I commenced my challenging and exciting journey with Universal Packaging Company (Pvt) Ltd in mid-2013 with an academic background of MBA in business and Finance. My company has enabled me to fulfill my need of perpetual professional development and learning opportunities to an optimum level.Printing and Packaging Industry of Pakistan has its own charms, risks and dynamic business side. I believe that Pakistan has a number of important customers in all the business segments like FMCGs, Pharmaceutical etc. Similarly, converters like Universal Packaging are in the continuous search of ways to create comprehensive value–creating solutions to serve the exponential marketing needs of Packaging in all the aspects for our esteemed customers. World packaging market can be observed statistically in the following bar chart:

Market development is always linked significantly with Packaging. Packaging of products can increase customer satisfaction, enhance visibility and set one product apart from its competi-tion. In essence, packaging plays a pivotal role in the branding process of the product, attracting customers and providing customers what they are looking for when they take the product home. Packaging can help sell the product by sharing information such as nutritional values, usage, size, measurements and lastly customers can identify the products or companies they are loyal to.

My first day at Universal Packaging was 18th March, 2013. At that time I was bit confused to join or not, but now I must say that I made an excellent decision. The respect, trust and care that I received from my Boss and colleagues are remarkable.

I am given with opportunity to excel and learn with appreciation and recognition. An environment where I can use my skills and abilities.

I am given with opportunity to work as an acting Head of Finance department while discharging my responsibilities; I gained lot of knowledge and experience. Huge amount of decision making was involved, and that really has enhanced my leadership and analytical skills.

I am thankful to my company, my C.E.O, my director and my colleagues for always giving a supportive hand to me.
