Dear Parents,

Although the weather has been unseasonably warm, I would

like to remind you of school closing information.

In the case of bad weather, John Paul II Academy closes

when Racine Unified closes. If RUSD is not in session, JPIIA

4K will not be in session. If RUSD has a delayed start because

of inclement weather, JPIIA 4K will not have school that day.

The major television and radio stations will list the school’s

closing.

In rare circumstances the Catholic Elementary Schools of

Racine may close. The school will also send emails and text

messages (if you have provided them) to alert families of

school closings. In the event that the school needs to make an

emergency closing, for example, if there are boiler problems,

water problems, electric problems etc. the parents will be con-

tacted and notified of the closing. Emergency numbers are

very important to the school in closings, accidents and illness.

Please keep yours up-to-date.

Christmas Concert Social

After the Christmas Concert there will be an all school

Dear Parents,

The holiday season is here and winter break is just around the corner. On behalf of the School Parent Asso-ciation (SPA) we are organizing holiday appreciation gifts for our teachers and staff. We would like to invite you to contribute some money to our Christmas SCRIP fund benefitting teachers and staff of JPIIA. Participa-tion is purely voluntary and any amount is appreciated. Monetary donations will be used to purchase SCRIP gift cards for teachers, staff, and administration. The Christmas SCRIP letter and form can be found in

your Friday Folder this week and we kindly ask that you return the form with your donation no later than Monday December 12th. Reminder - Carnival Basket Donations

Please send your Carnival basket donation to the office. The money will be used to create themed raffle baskets for

this year's Carnival. We are asking for a minimum of $4 per student. This is in lieu of actual item donations like we

have done in the past. We need 100% participation to make this a success. Please do your part to help our children

and our school. Thank you!

Carnival Drop & Dash

The first Carnival Drop & Dash is scheduled for Monday, November 28th.

Thanksgiving is November 24th so when you're out Christmas shopping on Black Friday or that weekend, please

think of JPIIA!!

So what is a Drop and Dash? It’s when you drop your children for the school day. There's no need to get out of the

car, just fill out the attached form and include with your donation. Auction committee members will be waiting to

grab your donation from your vehicle so you can dash!

If you are unable to drop off in the morning but would like to participate, please attach the form below and drop in

the school office.

Can’t decide what to donate?

We are always looking for:

Family friendly events: sports, theater or movie tickets

Household items: small appliances, art, etc.

Male-centric items: tools, grill, etc.

Female-centric items: handbags, jewelry, spa baskets, etc.

Kid-centric: books, games, etc.

Cash donations are also welcomed. Your donation will be used to purchase additional silent auction and raffle items.

Every donation is very much appreciated and needed. Your donation is tax deductible and a receipt will be provided

after the Carnival. Thank you for your continued generosity!

Wellness Policy

Snacks. Snacks served during the school day or in after-school care or enrichment programs will make a positive contribution to children’s diets and health, with an emphasis on serving fruits and vegetables as the primary snacks and water as the primary beverage. We will access if and when to offer snacks based timing of school meals, children’s nutritional needs, children’s ages and other considerations. Colectivo Coffee Fundraiser

The 8th grade is once again selling Colectivo Coffee for their 2017 8th grade trip. This great tasting coffee is roasted in Milwaukee and will be specially prepared for us one week prior to delivery. Look for the order form in this week's Friday folder. Orders are due Monday, April 4th and will be delivered to school on Thursday, April 14th. Consider purchasing a pound or two to donate to carnival for a coffee themed auction basket. With the many gift giving opportunities in the coming month, Colectivo is great for last minute gifts. Make a basket with a pound of coffee and two cute mugs - perfect hostess gift! For the true coffee lover you could put a couple pounds in a basket along with their favorite creamer and pastry treats. Yum! Please send all orders with payments to the school office by Monday November 28th Orders given directly to an 8th grader will go towards their personal trip account.
