Firefighting Foam Exposures
• AFFF (aqueous film-forming foam)– Proprietary mixtures that are used to extinguish
fuel-based fires– Contain fluorinated surfactants to aid in fire
suppression
• Manufacturing process leads to different degradation products– Could be used to “fingerprint” the type of AFFF
exposure
