WEEKLY
UPDATE
PPE supply in the Ontario Health
West Region during COVID-19
Gowns and N95 ConservationThere continues to be a low supply of gowns and N95 respirators available
across the province. Our supply chain is continuing to work on securing new
leads for these products. Additionally, we are staying in contact with the
Ministry of Health regarding when these supplies may become available
through the provincial pandemic stockpile.
In the meantime, it is important to continue practicing conservation strategies
to ensure these products remain available for the most critical needs. Check out
the Regional PPE Conservation Status Dashboard to learn more.

Good News
"There has been a great deal of work and collaboration among
the West Region supply chain organizations during the COVID-19
pandemic. We have accomplished the creation of a hub and spoke
distribution system powered by a virtual warehouse to meet the
urgent needs of healthcare providers across the region.
Essentially, we have accomplished 30 years of planning in 30
days."

Urgent Requests being filled
*Many of the Denied Orders are actually filled using supplies donated to local hubs.
Other reasons include duplicate submissions and the request coming from a sector that
is out of scope.
