Rail to Glacier ParkThe wheels turn and the train moves slowly forward as you wave goodbye and your wonderful rail journey begins. Explore one of Amtrak’s most legendary and scenic routes as we board the Empire Builder for our trip east through the soaring mountain ranges of the Big Sky Country. Enjoy dinner in the diner before nestling in for the night. See the feature film, “Glacier Park” in the lounge car in anticipation of tomorrow’s adventure. As we leave Whitefish Montana, the train follows the Flathead River for eighty miles as it skirts the southern boundary of Glacier National Park and crosses the Continental Divide at Marias Pass, the lowest rail crossing of the Divide in the United States. 

Upon arrival at Glacier Park, our mode of transportation will change to a 1930s vintage convertible touring bus to view the extraordi-nary scenery offered on the Going-to-the-Sun Highway. The afternoon is exciting as we ascend Logan Pass, surrounded by craggy mountains, glaciers, veil-like waterfalls, lush alpine meadows and wild life. Two nights are spent in this glorious park before we board the train to Seattle.

Late bookingsTours booked within 45 days of departure may incur a late fee of $75 per reservation in addition to any other charges.  

Passports & VisasA valid US Passport is required for all international travel. Passport must be valid for 6 months from your scheduled return date of travel. For information on applying for a US Passport please contact your local post office or passport agency. Non US passport holders should check with their consulate for travel requirements.  It  is the responsibility of the passenger to obtain all the necessary travel docu-ments required for entry into any foreign country. PLEASE NOTE: MYSTERY TOURS MAY REQUIRE PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP like an Enhanced driver License or passport.

Tour EscortsMost tours are fully escorted. Alki Tours reserves the right to substitute a local guide for tours falling below 20 pas-sengers.  Cruises  are  generally  unescorted  for  numbers 

below 15 passengers. We also  cross  sell with our past TAP travel partners.

Airline TicketsName  changes  or  substitutions  are  considered  cancel-lations  and  penalty  fees  apply.  Tickets  are  purchased  in group/bulk and mileage may not be available on all tick-ets. Airline tickets are capacity controlled and may not be available at the advertised rate for late bookings. Alki Tours will automatically request aisle and adjacent seats for those traveling together but cannot guarantee seat assignments. Alki Tours is not responsible for airline baggage fees.

Pickup times & LocationsOne-Day tours–Pickup times & locations are determined 3 days prior to departure. Once set, we will call you with the exact  time &  location closest  to your home.  If  you do not hear  from us  it  is  your  responsibility  to contact us  during  regular  business  hours.  Overnight  tours–The pickup times & locations are determined 2 weeks prior to departure. Once set, they will be included in your travel documents and mail to you. For the benefit of the group, we pick up at the two or three locations most convenient for the majority of our passengers traveling on that particular tour. The follow-ing are the most common locations: Shoreline (Evergreen BC), Bothell, Northgate, NEW pick-up 8th & Pike, South-center Ramada. Special pickups can be made for groups of 15 or more in the Seattle area and 20 or more in some outlying  areas.  Refund will  not be made because  your requested  location was not chosen as a pickup for  the tour you are signed up for. 

ONE-DAy TOURSAfter final payment has been made we will call you with your pick-up time and location three days prior to depar-ture. If we are unable to contact you it is your responsibil-ity to contact Alki Tours for this information. If you forget your time. No refund will be given for missing your pick-up for any reason. 31 days or more prior to departure full refund minus any non-refundable tickets or guarantees*. No refund for cancellations 30 days or less to departure or non-appearance the day of departure.*Tickets on the Leavenworth Snow Train and Stampede Pass Train are not refundable once purchased.Phone fees for any kind of payments taken by phone are not refundable.

TOURS WITH AIRLINE TICkETSIn addition to cancellation policies listed in our brochure and flyers, any penalties assessed by the airlines are the responsibility of the passenger. It is important to remem-ber  that airlines  tickets  are  confirmed 30-60 days prior to departure. Tickets are subject  to airlines policies and are  generally  not  refundable  or  transferable  (no  name changes) after purchase. Fuel surcharge may be added to tours with airfare included up to 30 days prior to depar-ture. Alki Tours is not responsible for any additional fees (including baggage charges) assessed by airlines.

CRUISES, TRAINS, INTERNATIONAL TOURSSpace is not confirmed until deposit is received. Since all Cruise & Train companies have different policies govern-ing cancellations please contact us for policies specific to your trip when booking. Note: Currency fluctuations may apply to advertised rates up to 10% of tour price.

GENERAL POLICIESCancellations  must  be  received  IN WRITING  to  affect any credits or refunds. Cancellations will be determined on the date received during business hours only, in our office, after hours will be the next day. Refunds cannot be made on unused tours, transfers or individual features voluntarily cancelled/omitted by the passenger. All other refunds will be made for the value of unused features, less applicable cancellation penalties.

Complimentary Home Shuttle PickupFor tours that  include round trip airfare, Alki Tours will arrange  Round-trip  shuttle  service  to  the  airport  from your home within the Seattle area  if  requested at time of booking. YOUR MUST DETERMINE YOUR LOCATION AT  TIME  OF  BOOKING.  CHANGES  WILL  RESULT  IN  A $25 Fee. Your pickup location will be the address listed on your invoice unless otherwise noted on your invoice. Shuttle Express is an independently operated company. Alki Tours will schedule services to pick you up as a cour-tesy for your convenience.  It is your responsibility to call Shuttle Express  immediately  at  the  number  listed  on your documents if your shuttle is late or if you have any concerns  regarding  your  transfer  to/from  the  terminal. You are responsible for arriving at the airport in time to make the flight. Changes to your pickup  location after booking will result in a $25 fee per change.

HotelsThe name of  each hotel will  be provided  in a detailed itinerary with your final documents. Due to limited hotel capacities,  Alki  Tours  Inc.  will  occasionally  substitute  a hotel of similar quality other than those listed rather than change or cancel your itinerary.

ResponsibilityThe  tours outlined herein will be  carried out under  the management of Alki Tours, Inc. and Great Train Escapes. (herein referred to as “the Company”). The Company acts only as agent for hotels, carriers, independent contractors or  suppliers  to passengers engaged  in  carrying, accom-modations  and  providing  other  services  to  passengers. The  Company  does  not  assume  any  responsibility,  nor shall  it be  liable  for any  loss, cancellation, costs, delays, irregularity, accident, injury, or damage to person or prop-erty damage,  loss or theft of baggage and personal ef-fects arising from or in connection with such services. The Company reserves the right to cancel or alter any itinerary, tour, accommodation as conditions require. In the event the Company is unable to provide the confirmed accom-modation, it will endeavor to arrange substitute accom-modations and any difference in price will be adjusted ac-cordingly.  If substitute accommodations are unavailable, the amount paid for accommodations will be refunded. The Company reserves the right to withdraw the tour for any reason before departure date, in which the amount paid to the Company will be refunded. Rates quoted are based on current tariffs at time of printing and are subject to change without notice. A contract is made when your reservation and payment are accepted by Alki Tours of Se-attle, WA and any dispute shall be governed by Washing-ton State law & subject to the jurisdiction of the County of King in Washington State. In calculating the cost of your trip, Alki Tours has relied on your consent to these terms & in the absence of this release, the trip cost would have been higher. You also agreed any chargebacks on a credit card will be deemed invalid and a $35 fee will apply and can be charged to your credit card.

Tipping GuidelinesDay Trips: $4-$5 per person for escort and driver. Extend-ed Trips: $6-$8 per person per day. Additional  recom-mendations will be provided in your travel documents.

Alki Tours “NO GROUCH” PolicyWe reserve the right to not accept or retain as a tour pas-senger any person who’s condition or behavior impedes the operation of the tour or affects the rights, welfare or enjoyment of the tour by other passengers. To be deter-mined solely by Alki Tours.

Extra Cost ProvisionAs on any trip, inclement weather and other conditions beyond our control may prevent or delay departure of a scheduled airline, ship, train or motorcoach. If as a result you must book an extra hotel night all  costs are solely your responsibility, not Alki Tours Inc. or any other sup-plier. WE RECOMMEND THE PURCHASE OF TRAVEL INSURANCE.
