Across the Muslim world, the Holy month of Ramadan is not only a time devoted to worship and dedication to fasting and prayer, it is also a time for meditation and relection on Islam's true, profound messages and covenants. Muslims across the world may also ponder upon the gift of Islam in their lives and relect on the present day including all challenges they face. It is for this reason that current religious, political and cultural issues that need understanding, and perhaps resolving, are discussed openly through all the available media and through numerous events, prayers and through thoughtful dialogue.

The programme will cover a series of nine robust discussion sessions over a period of nine days in an interactive, televised dialogue . It will aim to analyse and reframe the highly contentious global problem of extremism and lead to distinctly tangible thought, ideas and solutions. It will explore andand crystallise containment of risks, enhancing moderate Islamic thinking, building bridges, and an appeal for a more robust interfaith dialogue. The dialogue will focus on a thorough examination of cultural frameworks and identities, including how to negotiate those through the historical lelegacy of Islamic heritage in an ever-evolving global world.

The Ramadan dialogue offers an opportunity to openly analyse and explore a number of new ideas and revisit notions of social awareness and engagement in the modern world. Discussions across belief misinterpretations, “friction-lines” between cultures, identity and cultural belonging will reireinvigorate the search for solutions to solve longstanding problems. Ultimately the programme and ensuing dialogue will help redeine new possibilities for the Muslim world, particularly in its struggle with extremism, sectarianism and religious tensions.

The choice of session titles is a testament to its bold approaches at a time of great relection for all Muslims, especially during the Holy month of Ramadan where the journey of exploration and rediscovering the true anchored meaning of Islamic belief is at it’s peak.
