فلسفة االعمال الخاصة بالفنانة وئام المصري

Weaam Elmasry in her latest collection has a newapproach to artistic creativity. Here she relies onreducing the control of the conscious mind andopens the door for the subconscious, or what maybe called the higher consciousness, to lead theprocess of creativity and artistic creation.

On this intellectual journey, Weaam evokes thethoughts of Gibran Khalil Gibran in his book TheProphet. She is inspired by texts within that nurturethe unconscious and then surrenders to the ideasflowing in all directions from biology to sciencebioenergy, construction and architecture, complexhuman emotions, to values and ideals.

In her paintings, Weaam employs transparent colorsand inks to record her ongoing dialogue andindustrious search. Through its many layers, eachpainting can express this rich and enjoyableintellectual journey from beginning to its maximumdepth.

The concept behind the artworks of Weaam El Masry

Marriage: The lives of both partners intertwine and intersect buteach of them maintains an individual entity. They play theirinstruments together, each to his/her own tune, to give life itsbeautiful rhythm.

In this painting, Weaam evokes the words of Khalil Gibran in hisbook The Prophet: “fill each other’s cup but drink not from onecup… give one another of your bread but eat not from the sameloaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one ofyou be alone.

Sin: Weaam explores in this painting theresponsibility of society as a whole for the sin of itsindividuals. Each of us bears the brunt of these sins.

Weaam evokes the words of Khalil Gibran in hisbook The Prophet:” For the wrong committed mustyou knock and wait a while unheeded at the gate ofthe blessed… The murdered is not unaccountablefor his own murder, and the robbed is notblameless in being robbed. The righteous is not innocent of the deeds of thewicked, and the white-handed is not clean in thedoings of the felon…..When the black thread breaks, the weaver shalllook into the whole cloth, and he shall examine theloom also”
