MY MISSION

• To figure out and shape the narrative of my thesis project

• What is my Purpose for creating Noco, the fake fashion line web site?

• What are my goals?• Who is my audience?

Tips for Releasing Projects Online

• For my Art For The Internet collab, I watched a video of Jonah Peretti discussing his career of tracking and studying Internet memes

http://sternlab.org/artfortheinternet/2010/09/release-tips/I learned that the best Internet memes are the

ones that were put on the Internet by people with ZERO intentions of getting any fame; people discovered them on their own.

“Blackness Without The Burden”

• I read a blog article on the Black Snob about the rise of the gap-toothed model, and the piece included the phrase above hyperlinked to Amazon.com’s selling space for this book

• “Everything But The Burden: What White People Are Taking From Black Culture” by Greg Tate

Talking with Max Wilson

• On Friday, I met with an African-American professor at the Fashion school about my project

• He really liked my idea and gave me a few suggestions on the production/display side of things

• He also encouraged me to pursue this as an art piece in itself and see what comes out of it

Conclusion

• I feel that I have a more solid understanding of what I want from this project

• It’s an art piece designed to make people think, with two outlets for possible critique and discussion (a contact form on the web site that goes into the site’s email account AND a Facebook page for the site as well)

• My audience is the young, artistic African-American who can hopefully continue the race conversation online
