School Committee Update March Update:

The St. Edith Catholic School Committee met on February 2nd. We re-viewed the attendance and response of the Open House and made plans for next year. The new families entering the school would probably bene-fit from your experiences. If you are interested in being an Ambassador to these new families please contact a SEPA or School Committee repre-sentative. We also discussed having school IDs for the students. Eric Rotenheber’s term on the School Committee will be ending this year. I would like to thank Eric for his years of service to the Committee. We will be looking for someone to fill his position next year. If you are inter-ested in being a candidate please contact Mrs. Wojciechowski. We will hold an election later this school year. Many items central to growth at St. Edith were also discussed. These items included class sizes, student and teacher retention, discipline, and improvements to the building and grounds. Discussion on these issues will continue at future School Committee meetings. Our next meeting is April 5th, at 7:00 pm in the Parish Library. Non-committee attendees are welcome to attend. Important Dates: Mar 22 - Deadline for parents to submit items in writing to the school office for the Jan meeting Apr 5 – February meeting Have a Happy Easter! Softball & Baseball:

St. Edith CYO registration for both Softball and Baseball is now open for the following grade levels: Varsity Boys Baseball (7th and 8th Grade) JV Boys Baseball (4th, 5th and 6th Grade) JV Girls Softball (4th, 5th and 6th Grade) Unfortunately, due to a lack of players this year, we will not be able to have a Varsity Girls Softball team.

CYO has a new Softball / Baseball Sport Coordinator, Steve Phillips. He can be reached via email: [email protected]

Here is a direct link to the registration page on the website: http://stedithcyo.com/Registration/Default.asp?n=37029&org=stedithcyo Important New Rule: "CYO rules dictate that a player can be a member of another team (travel or recreational) of the same sport during the same CYO season, but is not allowed to participate in a contest (game) that involves a running clock or where officials are present. Failing to comply with this rule would result in the forfeiture of wins and season for the St. Edith team in which your son or daughter is a mem-ber." To clarify, your son or daughter can be a member of another team, can practice with that team, they just cannot play in a game with that team during the CYO season of that same sport. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to either myself or Steve Phillips. Thank you, John Szewc , St. Edith CYO, 313-673-4949
