A cantilever storage rack systems is a free standing rack system with horizontal arms
extending out from a single vertical column. Because cantilever rack systems offer no verti-
cal obstruction it allows for maximum storage. This arm rack system is ideal for storing non
uniform products such as: furniture, building materials, sheet metal, heavy duty metals,
pipe, bar stock, appliances, rugs and much more. Cantilever racks are manufactured from
both roll formed steel and structural steel.

Drive-in racks and Drive through racks are structures capable of high density storage. These systems are typically
constructed from steel and allow space for a forklift to move into the structure’s bay, which is essentially a lane of stacks.
Configuration: While drive-in rack structures feature one entry/exit way, drive-through racks have entry access on both
sides of the bay. The entryway differences typically affect the way materials are stored in these systems. For example,
items stored in drive-in racks are typically loaded via the last-in, first-out process, also known as LIFO. Due to this
method, drive-in systems are suitable for non-perishable products and items with a low turnover, as storage is not
readily accessible. The drive-through system requires the FIFO (first in first out) system. Both drive in and drive-through
systems operate in floor-to-ceiling structures.

ity flow racking maximizes storage space by minimizing aisles. Gravity pallet flow systems
can be designed to hold up to 20 pallets deep in one lane.

Carton flow is a form of shelving that uses gravity feed. Each unit consists of one or more
inclined runways. Goods are loaded from the rear and retrieve from the front. The item
directly behind it slides forward in place of the previous, creating a first in first out (FIFO)
stock rotation. With carton flow rack systems, labour savings of up to 75% can be achieved
immediately. Because items are picked from the front and stocked from the rear, both func-
tions can be performed without interference.
