Don’t forget the garage…

A garage is an asset that adds value. A

finished and organized garage will help sell a

house. According to the National Association

of Realtors, 78% of buyers purchase a house

with a garage.

Make sure the garage is clean, organized, and

in good repair -- set the stage for a good first

impression.

Preparing a Garage: Get rid of all extra stuff. Everything off the floor; organized into

cabinets, shelves, or ready-made storage systems.

All flammable items stored out of the reach of children.

Install a smoke detector. Clean and sweep. Paint walls and floor. Replace any burnt-out lightbulbs. Make sure the garage door opener is

working, or install an automatic opener.

If you do not have a garage and have the

space -- add one. A two-car garage

investment will return two-and-a-half times

what it costs to build. A garage can add up to

$30,000 to a home’s value.
