Urban Tour FAQs for Volunteers | Thursday April 5, 2012 | 5 pm – 8 pm Arrival Time/Parking Please arrive as soon as possible – the event time is starting earlier than originally planned. We need volunteers as early as 4:45 p.m. It is just fine if you cannot report until later. Where do I park? All parking garages are free after 6. Volunteers should park at the Palmetto Center/Marriott garage on Sumter. Parking is free. What Am I Doing? Report to Capitol Places, 1530 Main Street (aka Volunteer Central/Lounge) for your assignment. All volunteers are working at the information tables located on each block. You will answer questions, direct people, hand out trivia cards and welcome everyone. Get your best smile ready. Each table with have a radio to call back to Volunteer Central for questions you cannot answer. You may also call or text Katherine Swartz at 803.979.4097 A few volunteers will staff the door prize table – you will receive the trivia cards, review them to make sure they are mostly complete and put them in the bin. You will also help with the door prize drawings. Volunteers will be able to take breaks in shifts to enjoy our lounge, which will offer pizza, beer, sodas and water. Please be kind to your fellow volunteers when taking your break – no longer than 20 minutes, please! Rain Plan: There is a chance of rain so we will be sending you the game plan for rain later today. Arrival Time/Parking Please arrive as soon as possible – the event time is starting

earlier than originally planned. We need volunteers as early as 4:45 p.m. It is just fine if you cannot report until later.

Where do I park? All parking garages are free after 6. Volunteers should park at the Palmetto Center/Marriott garage on Sumter. Parking is free.

What Am I Doing? Report to Capitol Places, 1530 Main Street (aka Volunteer

Central/Lounge) for your assignment. All volunteers are working at the information tables located

on each block. You will answer questions, direct people, hand out trivia cards and welcome everyone. Get your best smile ready. Each table with have a radio to call back to Volunteer Central for questions you cannot answer. You may also call or text Katherine Swartz at 803.979.4097

A few volunteers will staff the door prize table – you will receive the trivia cards, review them to make sure they are mostly complete and put them in the bin. You will also help with the door prize drawings.
