Language arts, social studies, and music come to life through this unique approach to integrated arts instruction. This program introduces students to choral repertoire from diverse cultures, genres, and time periods – fostering authentic connections with classroom curriculum. Through weekly instruction, students analyze lyrics, become familiar with basic musical notation, perform for the community, and learn to listen to themselves and others. What’s Included: weekly clAssroom instruction facilitated by a Guild Artist, utilizing an approach grounded in Common Core Learning Standards
chorAl sheet music & piAno AccompAnist for dress rehearsals and concerts
plAnning sessions between Guild Artists and teachers to foster collaboration and align content with classroom curriculum
presentAtion opportunities for students to perform for one another and the community
(optionAl) composition workshop for students to create an original song
Appropriate for: k to grAde 12
Duration: semester- or yeAr-long—45 minutes per week per classroom minimum 4 classrooms per school
