City Winery offers individuals the chance to make their own barrel of wine with hands-on experiences in all facets of the winemaking process, from the initial crush of the grapes to creating a custom blend and private label. We also produce and serve delicious house wines from the grape varieties that we source from several of the finest vineyards in the world, from Bettinelli in Napa to Hyland Vineyards in Willamette Valley, Oregon.

From the moment the grapes are picked, we take careful measures to ensure the integrity of each harvest. We transport the fruit in 30lb bins, refrigerated at 36-degrees all along its journey to New York City and Chicago. Once there, we invite our members to participate in both our Fall and Spring Crush events, for activities such as destemming the clusters of grapes as they ride the conveyor belt to our stainless steel tanks where they ferment before being pressed and stored in French or American oak barrels. The wine is closely monitored by our winemaking team throughout its development and aging to achieve the perfect profile. All members are invited to assist and explore each step of the winemaking process throughout the term of their membership.

The results are terrific: world-class wines being produced in the city, our urban wine country. This is an unparalleled experience with unique insights into all things wine. Sample any of our house wines - the proof is in the bottle.

Cheers!Michael Dorf (Founder & CEO) & David Lecomte (Chief Winemaker)

The world’s first fully functional urban winery, state-of-the-art concert facility, restaurant / wine bar & private event space for parties of any size.

Imagine walking up to an oak wine barrel with your name on it in our cellar, pulling a sample of your personal vintage to taste with friends and colleagues as it matures and gets ready to go into a custom labeled bottle, then walking into our private cellar dining room and enjoying dinner - a priceless experience in the heart of New York City or Chicago’s West Loop. Barrel ownership is our most personalized service, offering hands-on participation in all stages of the winemaking process, including:

CRUSH & MACERATIONUpon arrival at the winery, the grapes are inspected and when deemed ready, de-stemmed and sorted. This is a great opportunity for members to participate in and experience the satisfaction of hands-on urban winemaking.

AGINGAfter fermentation is finished, the wine is barreled down to the cellar to begin aging per the winemaker’s and member’s design. Members are encouraged to visit the winery often to track the develop-ment of their wine and to consult with the winemaking team.

After the wine has aged to its optimum condition, the members and winemaker discuss options for blending, if desired. Members can use City Winery wines to further refine their wines as needed. In many cases, no further blending is necessary.

The finished wine is bottled and labeled right in the winery. Members can choose from a variety of options from custom cork to capsule, bottle style and label design. This final step is the culmination of a unique and fully personalized winemaking experience.

More than 250 bottles of superb wine made to each individual’s specification and design: a first class, personalized vintage to enjoy for many years to come. Your wine, your way!

We source our grapes from some of the finest vineyards in

the U.S.. Our winemaker personally visits each of our partner

vineyards during the year & selects City Winery blocks based

on his knowledge and each vintage’s unique characteristics. We

have two harvests each year: Our Spring Crush includes grapes

from Southern hemisphere countries such as Chile & Argentina

and our Fall Crush features grapes from California, Oregon,

Washington & New York State Finger Lakes Region

(and soon will include France).

WINDREM VINEYARD: Sits atop alluvial deposits of soils eroded over the millennia from the surrounding hills and mountains that comprise the northern portion of the Mayacamas Range. At an altitude of 1,360 feet, the vineyard lies about 2 miles south of Clear Lake and about one mile west of Mt. Konocti, a dormant volcano that towers above the entire region. The elevation of this site, coupled with the effects of the lake & surrounding mountains, causes diurnal temperature swings that are commonly 45 F - conditions that allow for ample acid retention during fruit maturation. • Lake County, Clear Lake, CA • Clone 1 on 5 rootstock • Terroir: Volcanic origin / Sandy Loam • Double cordon Lyre trellising

WINE STYLE: Bright and clear pale straw. Pear & peach with moderate stone fruit and citrus fruit expression on the nose. Bright and racy with minerality note.

SCOPUS VINEYARD: Owned by Bay Area venture capitalist Ori Sasson, this tiny jewel of a vineyard is perched high on Sonoma Mountain where growing conditions are best suited to cool-climate grapes such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard produces very low yields that translate into intense flavors. For the last two years, the vineyard has been managed by Ulises Valdez—possibly the most well-known grower in Sonoma. Ulises is known as the ‘David Abreu of Sonoma County’ and grows grapes for top Chardonnay producers like Paul Hobbs and Mark Aubert. • Sonoma Mountain, CA • Volcanic origin / very gravelly soils • 12-acre mountain vineyard • Clone 4 exposure; cool-climate viticulture; vertical trellising, cane-pruned. WINE STYLE: Aromas of stone fruit, jasmine, minerals & lemon zest. Dry & nervy, with brisk acidity and a saline nuance giving energy and lift to its citrus and orchard fruit flavors.

SAUVIGNON BLANC CHARDONNAY

UVA BLANCAS VINEYARD: Owes more than just its signature views to Seneca Lake-its rootstock comes from Hermann Wiemer, one of the area’s most prominent Riesling producers. The effects of the 600-foot deep lake creates a micro-climate that generates superb Riesling grapes in this cool climate AVA. Strict viticulture practices and the insistence on vine balance have resulted in reliably high quality fruit over the years. • Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes AVA • Clone 239 over 3309 • Terroir: Heavy shale soil • VSP trellising, 5-10 slope WINE STYLE: This Riesling is typical of its cooler climate. Fresh aromas of citrus and tropical fruit; crisp and refreshing mouth feel, with 1-3% residual sugar to balance the natural lively acidity.

SYRAHALDER SPRINGS VINEYARD: Mendocino County is located on the eastern flank of the coastal range amongst outcroppings of rock and virgin redwood. This vineyard has been a staple for Patz & Hall, Pax and Behrens & Hitchcock. Owner Stuart Bewley is a tinkerer of the best kind, totally indefatigable with extensive resources. The “Emerald Pool” is a landmark block of the Alder Springs Vineyard, fashioned from fruit grown in pure volcanic and gravel.

• Mendocino County AVA • Emerald Pool Block • Alban selection Syrah over multiple rootstock • VSP and Scott Henry trellising WINE STYLE: Offering notes of scorched earth, smoked meats, blackberries, cassis & flowers, it has superb structure, texture and intensity. The wines exhibit tremen-dous power interwoven with considerable elegance and definition.

PETITE SYRAHWINDSOR OAK VINEYARD: Situated with- in three AVA’s: Russian River Valley Appellation, Sonoma Coast Appellation and Chalk Hill Appellation. We benefit from all the wonderful characteristics of each of these appellations, producing eighteen dis-tinct types of grape. Each type of grape, and the specific rootstocks and clones within them, were selected for over 50 distinct vineyard blocks nestled throughout the steep hills, high terraces and low valleys.

• Russian River Valley, CA • Clone 468 • Terroir: Volcanically Derived, chalky white ash WINE STYLE: Intense inky color with purple rim. Intense first nose of leather, black pepper and roasted meats, followedby a round and rich mouth-feel with dark fruit flavors (plum, blackberries) and vanilla notes ending with voluptuous young tannins.

SYRAHTHOMPSON VINEYARD: The steep hillsides & south-facing exposure of Thompson Vineyard ensures complete ripeness. Low tonnage and a cool cli-mate produces amazing concentration, robust dark crimson color and equally rich, yet elegant flavors from these classic Estrella Clone Syrah grapes. • Santa Barbara County, CA AVA • Alban selection Syrah over multiple rootstock • VSP and Scott Henry trellising WINE STYLE: Notes of licorice, ground pepper, incense, Chinese black tea, roasted meats, and copious quantities of blackberry and cassis fruit. Admirable stuffing, full-bodied power, and dazzling delineation makes for an impressive Syrah that should drink well for at least 7-10 years.

PINOT NOIRHYLAND VINEYARD: Is located on a 200- acre property in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Originally planted in 1971, it is one of Oregon’s oldest and largest vineyards. Hyland fruit has been used as a primary element in several wines that have garnered 92 scores from Wine Spectator. With a cool, moist climate and a variety of sedimentary and volcanic soils, Oregon’s largest AVA is recognized worldwide for its Pinot Noir. Cool night air moderates the hot summer days and tends to preserve acidity in the grapes during the latter part of ripening thus producing high quality fruit that creates a lasting impression on the palate.

• Willamette Valley, OR • Terroir: Jory & Nekia soils • Ungrafted Coury clone • VSP trellising

WINE STYLE: Racy pinot noir. Light in color but high in character. Dark cherry notes with mellow mid-palate completed by an endless finish.

PINOT NOIRALDER SPRING VINEYARD: Is situated on a gentle southeast-facing slope that has been owned by Helen & Charles Bacigalupi since 1948. This is a benchmark vineyard in Sonoma County and the Russian River, producing some of the best Pinot Noir in California. The terrain ranges from gentle rolling hills to extreme hillsides. City Win-ery’s grapes are planted in the alluvial soils close to the river. David Ramey & William Selyem are long-term clients. • Russian River AVA • Sonoma County Dijon clones • Terroir: Alluvial soil from Russian River • VSP trellising WINE STYLE: Medium-bodied complex Cote de Beaune-style wines with immensely succulent cherry fruit, velvety texture and a silky finish.

PINOT NOIR

VERNA’S VINEYARD: Situated in Cat Canyon, 2 miles North of Los Alamos in the Santa Barbara County Appellation, which is primarily dedicated to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. Vines are all vertically shoot positioned with aggressive canopy manage-ment to insure proper ripening and varietal development. Cool night air moderates the hot summer days and tends to preserve acidity in the grapes during the latter part of ripening process .

• Santa Barbara County AVA • Block #5 : Clone 777 on 420 A rootstock • Terroir: clay loam with shallow hard pans of Monterey shale • VSP trellising

WINE STYLE: : Deep, vivid red. Fresh red berries, Silky and round on the palate, withtangy minerality lifting pliant red fruit pre-serve flavors. Balances opulence and vivacity and finishes sappy.

As part of the youngest volcanic flow in the North Coast region, this site is composed of intensely red soils shot with obsidian rock and gravel. The vines benefit from cool evenings due to good air and drainage, high elevation and breezes off the Mayacamas Range.

PETIT VERDOTWINDSOR OAKS VINEYARD: Situated within three AVA’s: Russian River Valley Appellation, Sonoma Coast Appellation and Chalk Hill Appellation. We benefit from all the wonderful characteristics of each of these appellations, producing eighteen distinct types of grape. Each type of grape, and the specific rootstocks and clones within them, were selected for over 50 distinct vineyard blocks nestled throughout the steep hills, high terraces and low valleys. • Chalk Hill, Russian River valley, CA • Terroir: Volcanically Derived, chalky white ash • UCDo2 VSP 110R roots stock WINE STYLE: Dark ripe fruit (plum, blackberries..) with some spices (cedar, eucalyptus). Powerful tannins providing a big backbone to the wine, black red fruits.

MERLOTSTAGECOACH VINEYARD: The soils found in these blocks are characterized by volcanic red/yellow clay loam mixed with variably sized boulders and fractured, decomposing rock.Topography : The slight south-facing slope, rocky but uniform soils, and the location nestled between two ridges all contribute to the ideal setting of this region. Although the ridges pro-tect the area from some of the valley breezes, the area is close enough to the mouth of the Napa Valley and Rector Canyon to give it a good marine influence.

• Atlas Peak • Clone: 181 on rootstock 3309 • Terroir: __

WINE STYLE: Overall, the Heart of Stagecoach offers a protected site allowing the blocks to grow stronger canopies and develop tannin structures that are perfectly married with rich fruit.

MALBECLA PYRAMID VINEYARD: The Catena family’s first vineyard was planted in 1903 in Mendoza. They realized early the potential of a high altitude vineyard and were some of the first to plant Malbec at this high altitude. Two generations of Catenas are working together now: Nicola Catena & Laura Catena are two recognized icons of Mendoza. Due to its location at 3100’, this vineyard is greatly influenced by the Andes Mountains, which block clouds coming from the west, thus allowing for 330 days of sunlight. • Lujan de Cuyo region, Mendoza • Terroir: Loamy Clay • Clone: Selecion massale • V206 acres, Mainly Malbec WINE STYLE: Dark, opaque violet color, delicate floral aromas (violet & lavender) with some ripe black fruits. * All harvest winemaking decisions (crush/press/racking/bottling) & when to apply them will be decided by winemaking crew. Example: all presses are decided depending on daily wine tasting, premium barrel owner wines will be custom (vineyard & variety selection, custom blend for each owner) but timing of crush & bottling will be made according to the wine & not to each member’s schedule. Priority is to make outstanding custom wines while providing pratical winemaking experiences & not the opposite.
