Safety, Safety, Safety Here at URI, your safety is of the utmost importance to us. For this reason, we would like to remind you of some of the basic safety precautions you should be practicing while here in the U.S. Please remember when going out during the day or night to always let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return. Make sure you keep with you the address of where you are staying and all important phone numbers.

If you are ever in a situation that feels unsafe, please do not hesitate to inform a staff member. When going out, it is always best to do so with at least one other person especially if you plan on meeting up with someone outside of the program and off campus. Never forget the importance of exercising good judgment. You should always keep your money, passport and other valuables tucked away securely and somewhere safe.

NOTE: Although the legal drinking age is 21 years of age here in the US, alcohol is not permitted in the residence. If you decide to have an alcoholic drink off campus, please remember the importance of always practicing moderation.

Medical/Wellness If you are feeling sick, let a staff member know. There is a hospital and walk-in clinic near campus where you can receive medical care. South County Hospital: 100 Kenyon Avenue, Wakfield, RI 02879 (401.782.8000) Wakefield Walk-In and Primary Care: 553 Kingstown Road, Wakefield, RI 02879 (401.284.1515)
