Thursday 14 th March 2019 – Issue 4 EASTER RAFFLE Please return all ckets sold or unsold to school by Friday 15 th March (tomorrow) as we need to account for every cket. We encourage parents to support this fundraiser as all money raised will go towards the oval upgrade. We are sll accepng donaons of Easter goodies from Rollins families. Thanks to all parents for their support. FAMILY NIGHT We look forward to seeing as many people as possible aend our Family Night this Wednesday 20 th March from 5.00-7.00pm. There will be numerous stalls and acvies to keep you entertained. A sausage sizzle and soſt drinks will be available on the night, families are welcome to bring a picnic dinner. Our Easter raffle will be drawn on this night. In all, it should be a great opportunity for families to come together and enjoy me as part of the Rollins community. OVAL At this stage we have closed the oval to all students as we plan ahead for our upgrade. We ask that no student or parent uses this as a walkway to the gates at the end of the oval. Please use the gates at the back of the STEM room near the veggie enclosure. During the period the oval is closed the 2 gates at the end of the oval will remain locked. Thanks everyone for your support in this maer. Hopefully we wont be inconvenienced for too long. FAMILY PICNIC LUNCH On Friday 26 th April (Term 2) we will hold a Family Picnic Day. Families are invited to bring their lunch and join their child/Children in the yard at lunchme. Family picnic me is 1.30-2.30. Please pop it in your diary so you keep this date free. GaGa PIT Last year when our grade 5/6 students aended camp they were totally taken by the Gaga Pit- I must admit I had no idea what they were talking about! It is a game similar to Downball – and highly popular. At present we are in the process of construcng a Gaga pit to ensure our students have plenty of acvies while our oval is closed. SCHOOL UNIFORM Reminder to parents that broad brimmed hats are compulsory in Terms 1 and 4. Students may wear plain navy beanies to keep their heads warm in Terms 2 and 3. As the colder weather is approaching parents may be purchasing new uniforms. Please note that leggings on their own are not part of our school uniform. Navy tracksuit pants are more suitable and are warmer for the children. VISITING CLASSROOMS Reminder that parents or visitors must come via the school office before going to classrooms. This is a requirement to ensure we are fully aware of who is in the school at all mes in case of an emergency evacuaon. It also allows the teacher to concentrate on their teaching dues. If you need to see the teacher please call the office and make an appointment or put a note in your childs diary. Thank you for your understanding in this maer. This weeks Assembly- Batesford performing Reminder that Grade Captains will be acknowledged at assembly this week. Stars of the Week (x2) will be presented at tomorrows assembly as the previous assembly was cancelled due to extreme weather.     Captain’s Comment What an awesome week it has been! The grade 5\6’s went on an excursion to North Geelong and did some activities there. It was great to see all the students work-ing hard and setting a great exam-ple during the Prep tours.
