The Dalles Downstream Miter Gate - Emergency Repairs
The Problem:► Cracks in both miter
gate leaves.
► Gate vibrates upon un-mitering/opening.
► Gate has no adjustability.
► Lower 30’ not mitering.

► Interior girder pockets reinforced with boxes bolted in place.

The Fix:
► Interior girder pockets reinforced with boxes bolted in place.
► Web of lower girder doubled up and bolted into place.
► Replace and Re-tensioned all pintle bolts.
► Repaired 32 different areas where cracks existed by welding.
► End post to quoin block stiffeners reinforced with bolted plates.
