U.S. AutoForce Tire Warranty Guide Updated: March 2022

Required Paperwork Any product being returned to U.S. AutoForce for warranty consideration should include proper documentation. We recommend placing all necessary paperwork in an envelope and securely tape to the product. DO NOT hand over loose paperwork. *All warranty tires must be submitted with the appropriate manufacturer claim form or USAF generic claim form* Claim form must be filled out entirely, this includes vehicle and consumer information. Based on the specific reason for warranty consideration, proper documentation is required to prove install date, replacement date, tire rotations, total miles driven, etc. Please reference manufacturer guidelines to determine required documentation. POP: Proof of Purchase – Consumer Invoice DOT: Serial number located on the sidewall, last four digits signify the week and year of manufacture.

Denied Product Product with non-adjustable conditions or missing paperwork will be sent back to the dealer with an explanation as to why the product could not be adjusted. Having the product back in the dealer’s possession allows for the opportunity to re-submit the product with the required information, paperwork, or manufacturer authorization number.

Manufacturer Authorizations Authorization numbers need to be placed in the authorization/approval box of the relevant manufacturer claim form or USAF generic claim form. If no authorization/approval box exists, the authorization number should be placed in the comments section. Along with the authorization number please note what the authorization is for, the percentage amount and amount charged to consumer. *If manufacturer requires replacement tire(s) to be of the same brand and the replacement tire(s) is of a different brand, an authorization provided by the manufacturer is REQUIRED. Warranty claims will be denied without proper authorization provided up front.

Tread Depth Readings A minimum of three tread depth measurements should be recorded per tire. Please reference manufacturer guidelines for allowable tread depth variance across tread and/or between tread blocks.

Tread Depth Gauge & Marking Measurements It is important that you use an accurate, good quality tread depth gauge when measuring tread depths. Failure to do so may result in different tread readings which could lead to altered credit amounts. It is also important to take the tread reading in a minimum of three areas across the tread and two wear bars apart if possible. DO NOT measure on wear bar (if applicable). Mark the tread where the measurements took place with an X, circle, or dot and record the reading on the tire. Use the average of the three measurements as the recorded tread depth on the claim form. U.S. AutoForce uses the Xtra Seal tread depth gauge part # 17-607T which can be ordered from U.S. AutoForce.

Puncture Repair Procedures for Passenger and Light Truck Tires The excerpts are cited from the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s “Puncture Repair Procedures for Passenger and Light Truck Tires” wall chart, which contains the industry recommended puncture repair procedures for all tire repair technicians and facilities.

Repairs must be performed by removing the tire from the rim/wheel assembly to perform a complete inspection to assess all damage that may be present. Repairs are limited to the tread area only (see graphic). Puncture injury cannot be greater than 1/4-inch (6mm) in diameter; DO NOT make repairs where the injury damage extends into the shoulder/belt edge area OR where the injury extends at an angle into the shoulder area. If there is any question that the injury extends into the shoulder/belt edge area, then the tire must be taken out of service.

Repairs cannot overlap. A rubber stem, or plug, must be applied to fill the puncture injury and a patch must be applied to seal the inner liner. A common repair unit is a one-piece combination unit with a stem and patch.

Not all tires can be repaired. Specific repair limits should be based on recommendations or repair policy of the tire manufacturer and/or type of tire service. NEVER repair a tire that has an existing, improper repair; the tire must be scrapped. Ask your service technician if industry repair procedures are used. Also, some tire manufacturers may have repair limits or restrictions for some tires, such as run flats and others.

A plug by itself or a patch by

itself is an unacceptable

repair.
