I. GenerallnfOlmalion Laddok® 5L herbicide is intended for the postemergence control of a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds. laddok 5L does not control grasses.

Mode of Action laddok 5l is a norcAlS product that inhibits photosynthesis in braadleaf weeds mainly through contact action.

Crop T alerance Com (field, pop, seed, silage, and sweet) and sorghum (forage and grain) are tolerant 10 Laddok 5L al all stages of growth. Leaf speckling may occur, but plants generally outgrow this condition within 10 days. New growth is normal and crop vigor is not reduced. Seed producers should consull the seed company regarding the tolerance of inbred lines of seed population to Laddok 5L.

active weed growth.

Coverage Weeds must be thoroughly covered wit!": spray because dense leaf canopies shelter smaUer weeds and can prevent adsqu819 spray coverage.

Cultivation Do not cultivate within 5 days before or 7 days after applying Laddak 5L. Cultivating 7 days after treatment may help provide season·long controL

Cleaning Spray Equ!pment Clean spray equipment thoroughly using a strong defergent or commerciai sprayer cleaner according to the manufacturer's directio.~s before and after applying this product.

II. Application Instructions Apply Laddok 5L al the rates recommended in Table 1 unless instructed differently by Section VII. Crop-Specific Information. Applications can be made to actively growing weeds as aerial, broadcast, band, or spot spray applications at the rates and growth stages listed in Table 1. The most effective control will result from making postemergence applications of LaddoK 5L earty, when weeds are small. Delaying application permits weeds to exceed the maximum size stated and will prevent adequate conlrol. Postemergence applk:alion 10 corn and sorghum musl be made before com and sorghum teach 12 inches in height.

Air Applicalim VVster Volume: Use a minimum of 5 gallons of water per acre and increase water volume to at least 10 gallons of water per aCre if grass fofiage or crop canopy is dense, AMS can be used provided a minimum of 10 galions of solution Is applied per acre. AMS is not recommended because of the potential precipil3lion problerns in reduced water volumes. USE! AMS only jf the source has been demonstrated 10 be successful m focal experience.

Spray Pressure: Use up to 40 psi.

Appiication Equiprrent: Use only d:aphragm··type nozzles that produce carre or ran spray patterns.

Nozzle Height: Maximum of 10 fHet above crop

Nozzle OrientatiDn: ND"'-2Jes must be orienIec tc djscl1arge straight back with the air stream (opposite the direction of travel of the aircraft) or at some angle between straight back and straight down. Nozzles must be located no fartner our tnan 3/4 the distance from the center of the aircraft to the end of the wing or rotor.

Special Directions for Aerial ApplIcation To obtain uniform coverage and to avoid atilt hazards, follow these guidelines: • Do not apply Laddok 5l b)l aircraft when wind is blowing more than 10 mph. Use coarse sprays

(larger droplels) as they are less likely to drift. • Do not apply laddok 5L by air if ornamental or sensitive nontarget crops such as soybeans,

peanuts, cotton, sugar beets, sunflowers, or okra are within 200 feet downwind. The applicator must follow the most restrictive use cautions to avoid drift hazards, Including those found in this labeling as well as applicable stat6 and local regulations and ordinances.

SPRAY DRIFT M",NAGEMENT

Avoiding spray drift at Ihe applioatlon site is the responsibility 01 th& 2lppIiCalor. The interaction of many equipmenl-and-wealher-related faclors determine the pOlential for spray drift. The applicator and the grower are responsible for considering an these factors when making decisions. The follOwing drift management requirements must be followed to avoid off-target drift movement from aerial applications to agriculturai field crops. These requirements do not apply to forestry applications, public health uses or to applications using dry formulations.

1. The distance of the outer move nc;:zles on the boom must not exceed 3/4 the length of the wingspan or rotor.

2. Nozzles must always point backward parallel with the air stream and never be painted downwards more than 45 degrees. Where States have more stringent regulations, they should be Observed.

The applicator should be familiar witn and take- imo account Ule information covered in the Aerial Drift Reduction Advisory Information,

AERIAL DRIFT REDUCTION ADVISORY INFORMATION

Importance Of Droplet Size The most effective way to reduce drift polential is to apply large droplets. The best drift management strategy is to apply the largest droplets thai provide sufficient coverage and control. Applying larger droplets reduces drift potential, but will no! prevent drift if applications are made improperly, or under unfavorable environmental conditions (See Wind, Temperature and Ht1midtty, and Temperature Inversion section of this label).

Controlling Droplet Size Vol~ Use 11igl1 flow rat., noczles to apply IIle 11igllesl practical spray valume. Nozzles wilh higher rated flows produce larger droplets. Pressure- Use the lower spray pressures recomme'nded for 1he nozzle, Higher pressure reduces droplet size and does not improve canopy penetration. When higher flow rates are needed, use higher now rate nozzles instead of increasing pressure. Number of noz.z:le~,. Use the minimum number of nozzles that provide uniforrr. coverage NOZZle Orientation- Orienting nDrlles so that thE' spray is released backwards, parallel to the airstream, will product larger droplets than other orientations. Significani defleclion from Ihe horizontal will reduce the droplet size and increase drifl potentia/. N07.2le Ty\1§'- Use e nozzle r;po thai is designed for the intended application. With most nozzle types, narrower spray angles produce largm droplets. Consider using low-drift nozzles. Solid stream nozzles oriented straight bad: produce larger droplets than other nozzle types.

Ifl. Additives To achieve consistent weed control, one of lhe following additives are needed: ammonium sulfate, Dash® He spray adjuvant, crop oil concentrate. or urea ammonium nitrate. AMS (or UAN) should be used when velvetlgaf is the primary target weed. Additives may cause some leaf bum. but new gro~h is normal and crop vigor is not reduced. The potentia! for leaf bum is increased when relative humidity and tS:Tiperature are high. See Table 3. AdditivE Rate Pei Acre fJr additive rates.

Ammonium Sulfate (AMS) AMS ic ad:)', gran:.J!ar nitroge:"l~so:.:rce iertl\iz.e~. Use only fine feed-g:-ade or sp~a)'-grade AMS because inferior grades of AMS do not dissolve adequately and can plug spray nozzles. Micro Flo Company does noi recommend applying AMS if applied In 1.55 than 10 galions per acre because of potential problems with precipitation in reduced volumes. Use AMS only if rt has been demonstrated to be successful in local experience. Refer to Air Application Instructions for AMS use recommendations .

Dash He or Oil Concentrate A crop oil concentrate must contain either a petroleum or vegetable oil base and must meet all of the follOwing criteria:

- be nonphymloxic, • conta!n only :::P.A.-exempt ingredients, • provide good mixing quaJit}' in the jar rest and • be- succes5ful in local experience.

The exact composition of st.litable prOducts WIll vary; however, vegetable and petroleum oil concentrates should contain emulsifiers to provide good mixing quality. Highly refined vegetable oilS have proven more satisfactory Ulan unrefined vegetable oils. Dash He mav be· substitutec as an oil concentrate, however, for some crops and tank mixes, Dash He is not recommended. For acldjtionalmformation, see Compatibility Test for Mix Components. Some oil concentrates caUSE;' €:}(WSSfVe leaf burn. Refer to your supplier for information conceming successful loca! experience ~efore pUI"chasing any oil concentrate.
